Earlier this year I acquired a Winchester 12 gauge Ranger from a fellow forum member (name not mentioned out of respect for his privacy; he's welcome to chime in if he'd like). It was part of an estate, so not his doing, but the gun came to me covered in spray paint of several layers. I had a suspicion the gun would be beautiful underneath all that crap, and so today I tore it down and went to work. 2 hours, a roll of paper towels and a bottle of acetone later, I was proven right in my suspicion. The paint seems to have done a great job of preserving this old gun.IMG_20210601_125825.jpgIMG_20210601_154038.jpg

Beautiful restoration!

How long did you have to saute' it? :)
Honestly I just kept at it with gloves and an acetone soaked rag for about 2 hours give or take. Some of it was on there pretty good but thankfully the prep work of the original painter wasn't great.
