I havent been to a GBO gun show in years ever since I got run off the sidewalk by a GBO cop car. Greensboro's finest...

Yes, it is a big show, but not as big as the Dixie show in Raleigh. Greensboro used to be known for the highest quality tables, overall, for a commercial show in NC, but it has declined like all other shows. Still, it is worth attending and you will see vendors there that don’t set up anywhere else. Still a fair number of private vendors there, too.

Went today with a buddy.

Talked to the gents at the CFF booth, saw Cubrock, saw, but didnt speak with, Mark at NCengravers (no offense to him, I just didnt want to wait, he had a lot of people at his booth)

Picked up a couple of books from one vendor - two for a buck. Got two GI mags for 10 bucks (5/ea), they are okay brand...and in ok condition.
60 rounds of 223, only 13 bucks, I felt it was reasonable.
And then got two free stickers that talk trash about socialism, real sto

Here’s that 1955 letter from Marlin about the Sears guns, in case you and MacEntyre might be curious to see it
Thank you, Edward Young!

My impression is that it's fairly well known that the Sears Mounties are D&T for a Weaver N Mount. On my 1954 Mountie, I figured an N Mount with a vintage Weaver scope would look better than 4 plugged holes in the barrel, so I found one and installed it. Once I did that, I figured I'd keep the 1966 Mountie with iron sights.

I would go, but they started charging for kids to enter a couple years back. So by the time I pay to park and get me and my boys I. I'm out $50 before I ever even set foot in the door. And then real deals are few and far between it seems...

View attachment 181914 Doesn’t look too bad with the filler screws. I thought you might just be interest in seeing that 70-year-old letter
That letter is fascinating! Wish it were mine... Thanks!

That is ridiculous!

Instead, they should just tell each kid to stick with Dad and keep their hands off of everything.

Wow, they're charging for kids? Yeah, that has to keep some away due to the cost (11 to get in)

I found that out one year with all 3 girls in tow. All were 10 years old at the time. Never again. Why should anyone under 18 need to pay anyway?
