Greetings From The Mountains...

Hey, it worked. Go free speech!

I have never shared any info regarding Carolina Firearms Forum in a post or PM on NCGO. In fact I only learned about this site yesterday evening. I merely sent myself a PM with the URL here to test if what was being reported on NCGO was true. It is.

Added to the other issues I've been hearing for some time now, it was the straw that broke the camel's back.

I wouldn't even mind a policy that didn't allow posts to contain such specific references. But telling a paying member what he can and cannot communicate in a private communication? Nope. That's just not gonna cut it with me.

All members, paid or not, deserve to have their private communications respected...and beyond that, the right to choose to communicate where they wish to congregate with others. The Soviet style of administration is not my cup of tea. (I've been a super moderator on a very large, well known knife enthusiast site for the better part of 20 years and haven't sunk to those sorts of heavy handed tactics.)

Not to derail a thread again, but someone, and I won't name names, :) told all of y'all (that's a general term too) that stuff was gonna happen.

I am a paying member at the other place as well and I WILL NOT be told what I can & can't post...

Anyways. :)

Good to see more friends over here.

Looks like a lot of folks at NCGO are beginning to see what's been going on behind the scenes and are as angry about it as I was.

I'd expect a few more introductory posts to be made over the next few days if I'm reading the temperature correctly.

Glad to have here, this is the melting pot for people looking for a better place, with no oppression from overlords, we started as something else and now we're all cff.
Give me your tired, your poor,

Your huddled masses yearning to breathe free,

The wretched refuse of your teeming shore.

Send these, the homeless, tempest-tost to me,

I lift my lamp beside the golden door!"
Enjoy the forum

Welome Blues, hope you like it here

Hi all from the mountains of western NC.

I got the word from a couple members on another site that this would be a good place to hang out going forward so I've decided to come on over and register an account while I learn my way around. (I'm active on a couple of other firearms related sites as well.)

I'm a retired federal LEO and worked in both NYC and South FL before moving up to NC some years back.
(I guess that makes me a federal half back.) Worked investigations in the U.S. and abroad ranging from international narcotics trafficking and money laundering to undercover ops and international arms smuggling.

I continue shooting pretty regularly with my neighbors on private ranges on their property, and at least annually with the local sheriff's office to maintain my LEOSA certification.

Hope to get to know some of you and happy to be on board.
Welcome from the coastal plains! Glad to have you!

Welcome to CFF!

Welcome to the site, @blues; I recognize the screen name and avatar from P-F.com. Glad to see you make your way over here. :)

Welcome to the place! You'll notice some folks look familiar!

.

Oh I remember , you did a number of times :)

I got the boot for much the same. Best move I never made!

Well, I just noticed that my most recent post has been deleted...probably along with an entire thread with which I took some exception but only commented upon this morning after seeing a couple of other rational responses.

Personally, I don't think it's the right thing to delete a thread as opposed to closing it, as legitimate content which tried to address the issues raised in the thread are gone as well. "Baby out with the bath water" and all. It's water under the bridge now (to use another fitting expression).

A lot of fine folks on this forum but I don't think it provides the answer to the issues at NCGO so I'll bid you adieu and farewell.
