Let me preface this by saying that I’ve owned , conservatively, somewhere in the neighborhood of 6,237,157 S&W revolvers...J—->X Frame

I don’t recall seeing stocks like these before. They’re just a nice set of Hogues with a little extra meat down by the pinky. Super comfy and I bet they handle really well.

But....where the heck is the screw to take them off?! I’ve already mucked them up by prying on the corners to no avail.

I want to swap out for some fancy wood, but can’t get these things off!

Who’s done it?

Murphy’s law....

Figured it out in the time it took the interwebs to archive my idiocy for all eternity.

Just had to slide them down and around the butt. (hehehehe)

They came with a small black plastic U shaped wedge. To remove the grips the wedge is pushed over the grip frame strap with each side of the U over the frame...top of back side.

Push wedge in and grips will open at top. Keep working the wedge down the frame along with the grip toward the heel of the grip.

The grip slides off the bottom. To reinstall the grip do the above in reverse.

Old credit card or two will work also.

Hogue also made J frame grips that go on/off the same way.
