Anyone have any suggestions for grips for a Colt Trooper Mk III? Other than Pachmayr's Presentation grips which I hate, that is!

I'm looking for something recoil-reducing, "grippy" for large average hands, finger grooves optional.

Thanks!

Which leads me to another question. I see that a number of people actually prefer hardwood grips to 'rubber' grips for better control and less felt recoil. This seems contrary to me. Can some revolver specialist help me out here?

I certainly don't mean to imply that all knowledge flows from This fountain. RS says I am Full of useless information. I have NO condoms on any guns I own. My druthers in order are Pearl, Ivory, any beautiful wood. Remember that's just one old man's particular liking.

I agree from a looks standpoint. But when we're talking full bore loads in .357 mag (not to mention .44 mag) how do the wood grips do with stout recoil and/or muzzle flip?

JT they don't bother me at all in full size guns. These 10-25 ouncers are not for me. A full size Colt though?? No condoms for me.

I used Pachmayr Diamond Pros on my 2 small carry revolvers. They really help hold onto that 13oz airweight with .38+p

The palm swell and the texture are way better than the ancient presentation grips
