Or...they realized this is a far easier way to handle the situation than 911 being bombarded by Karens calling in every time they see a few kids out in the street playing, or a neighbor having a BBQ.

So ... you are lauding (or just noting) the fact that government has found a way to make it easier for itself to be malfeasant?

They said on TV yesterday that you should call 311 to report any violations that you see in Mecklenburg. No forms involved.

Noting...but you can assume whatever you want. I think its ridiculous personally. But I also don't think it is some super evil way the government is looking to trample on us. I would imagine, with all of the fear and hysteria going on in the country, there are people calling the police for all sorts of ridiculous things. And what specifically would an online form differ in any way from a 911 or 311 phone line. Does it being on the internet make it any more evil?

So I specifically state via the parenthesis that I'm not assuming anything, but you graciously give me leave to do so. Nice.

Nope, didn't say or suggest or infer that "being online" makes "it" more evil. What I was observing is that an evil or malicious or malfeasant end retains that quality regardless of the means used to attain it.

To make analogy: is the government's collection of income tax a good or ill? Is, thereby, having online tax submission and payment/refund good or bad? Efficient materially, no doubt.

PS but, let's not have two CZ carriers get affrayed (I may have just verbed that noun)!

No, I still love you, with a deep burning (and itching) passion only CZ lovers carry. I am just stating that it is just an online 311 phone call. I think the level of abuse it opens up will quickly lead to it either being taken down, or additional tracking put into place to prevent it from being abused like fake calls to 911.

I think you CZ lovebirds are missing at least part of the point: it's a sad and deeply troubling state of affairs when our society has degenerated to where people are readily becoming Nazi- or Soviet- style informants, regardless of the intent of the particular "governing body."

No, not missing that point at all.

It's okay; they did it all the time in the Old West and the Old South. (Verbalized nouns, that is. Not the other thing.)

Put in reports on any and every government official, toadie, groupie, lobbyist that you can find. Overload the system to failure. Put in fictitious people with empty lot addresses.

Huh, just not wanting to get into a metaphorical "gun fight" makes us lovebirds? In any case, I was concurring with the idea that since I find government regulations enforcing a "stay at home" order illicit, I likewise find means by which to carry out the same (especially by soliciting playing the informant) illicit.

PS Besides, Kcult and J Patterson are sufficient for CFF couples ::ducks and covers::
