This is how we lose more racetracks/why we lose more racetracks

Recently, JJ Da Boss (famous from the dragracing tv show on discovery, I think) was doing an exhibition at a track in Darlington
Dont know, exactly, how it went down, but article said one guy said he could hang onto the bed and the driver, JJ, said he could throw him off.
Im sure now alcohol was involved in this one...

Apparently the racing org that sanctioned this track pulled out after this stunt.
Neat to watch, but it also pisses me off because, as I stated, this just makes it harder for tracks to operate.

Yeah, my old media director with ORSCA sent that to me. Supposedly there was no one in the tower, as JJ was running the event, and it was a no time, arm drop deal. So, he had his own people running the starting line, while a girl that usually works in the tower, was running the gate, that said there were no officials from Darlington on the starting line, or tower, or they would have stopped it from happening. But, a dude that was there said he was on the starting line and was standing right next to a dude that was wearing a button up, Darlington official shirt with a headset on, and was laughing and carrying on while he rolled up to the line and did his little burnout. Darlington has since went on a rant saying they will never have JJ back, etc, trying to save face and keep the fire from getting too big. Too late i believe. WDRA like was said, has pulled their sanctioning of the track. Like you said, just makes it harder on tracks who already have a hard enough time to stay open and operate.

Guy said he signed 7 different waivers before the stunt. Shouldn't that release the insurance company from liability?

Had he been drinking at all?
Could he say, if hurt/later, that he was intoxicated and didnt know what he was signing?

Look, it looks cool and wild. But as a [former, hopefully again] racer, this is how you lose tracks.
I know, hindsight is 20/20, we know the guy is safe and sound, but what if he wasnt? Waivers be damned, this would set the track back tremendously.

JJ Da Boss...Ive seen him on tv. Seemed like a moron then, only confirms it more now.

I mean, this seems less dangerous than riding a top fuel drag bike?
Meh. Seems dumb, true, but I feel like I did many things dummer than this before I even made it out of high school.

I mean I didn't see the guys BAC results. It was just a post stunt interview. I tried to find it but it has been edited to remove the interview.

Be a little hard on the teeth and face when it comes back down.

JJ has nothing on this guy, done a long time ago by Andy Hoffman back in 2007 while he was vice president of the MTRA (the only monster truck safety organization on our planet) and 3rd in command of said club. Did the below more than once that day:
