Looks like I made the right decision when I stopped shopping there. Am I mistaken in understanding that nobody cares about the violence and danger????

“Fights, shootouts and drive-bys have happened inside and outside Hanes Mall…”

Well, for sure I don’t wanna be inside! 😂

A neighbor was assaulted and injured at the mall approximately 20 or so years ago. Never made the papers. An Officer told me that this mall was rated in the top ten most dangerous malls on the east coast and that he would be fired for saying it. It hasn’t got any better. Politics, pandering, and spineless “leaders”.

It seems that somebody gets shot there about every weekend. I avoid that place like the plague. The only time I ever dare to go in the building is if I need to get my phone fixed or something tailored, but that's only a couple of times a year. It's a shame because that was a really nice mall 30 years ago.

Northlake Mall in Huntersville is becoming the same way. It is a relatively new mall, built in 2005, but they have had 3 shootings in about the last 90 days. Concord Mills Mall is becoming the same way.

A friend of mine who was a deputy sheriff and worked at Concord Mills off duty security, said Friday nights were normally pretty safe, but Saturday nights were when all the thugs from Charlotte came in and they did quite a bit of head knocking.

“I would say the mall is a safe place to go, but I would understand citizen concerns about it,” Mayor Allen Joines said.

Saying it don't make it so.

The violence at Hanes Mall is nothing new...been going on for years. Problem is, it is happening more frequently now than it used to and they cannot keep a lid on it anymore.

Went there not long ago for...something. Hell, I cant recall now.
I didnt see much different than from when I worked there 20 years ago.
Now 4Seasons - I went there for a pair of jeans a month ago...F that place.

There was a mall in Asheville years ago that posted security at every entrance. Anyone who looked young was asked for ID. No one under 18 allowed in without an adult.

Little different situations here as they were trying to curb fist fights.

Good policy. Teens have ruined malls.

agree with BlackGun:

"If we are all lucky malls will survive. That’s where the trash on weekend nights can go while we live in peace at other places."

gerrymandering on a social scale, or sort of like a salt block for deer.
