So, today is my birthday. I had a great day with my wife and our two young daughters (4yo and 6yo). We went to a museum and a park and then my girls baked and decorated cupcakes for me at dinner time. It was a really fantastic day!
About a week ago, my wife (who is horrible at keeping secrets) told me that she didn't know what to get me for my birthday, but one of my presents is a magazine loader. I laughed and held up my thumb, Blackhawk Down style, and wiggled my thumb while saying, "This is my magazine loader." She stared at me blankly... Then I said, "What kind of magazine is it made to fit?" She said, "SIG". I said, "Sig, what?" She said, "I don't know. I thought they were all the same?"
I said, "No, there are thousands of different types of guns with many types of magazines. There are probably 100 different Sigs made over the years." Again, she looked at me blankly... Then I dropped the bomb... "I don't even own a Sig."
She looked defeated, and I wanted to fix the situation...
I said, "Don't worry. When it comes in, from Amazon, we will see what kind of magazine it loads and I will buy that kind of Sig. That'll be my next gun." Then I laughed really loud! But, she didn't laugh. She said, "OK".
I couldn't believe it!
So, for the last week, I have been thinking, "I wonder what kind of Sig I will get to buy!" Getting more and more excited by the day.
Today, after cupcakes, my wife hands me an Amazon box. I open it and inside is a magazine loader for a Sig MPX. I got really excited... Then I looked online and the cheapest new Sig MPX is about $1600. My head started swimming with thoughts, plans, fears, worry....
She doesn't know about the CZ thread I started yesterday (and the CZ97b I will buy in a few days). And she doesn't know about the HK USP thread I started last week ( I bought a USP). And, she doesn't know about the new HK Mk23 I have mentioned in several posts over the last month (last month I bought a brand new Mk23).
So, honestly, I'm thinking I should take a step back, take a deep breath, and send this magazine loader back to Amazon for a refund (she paid $34 for it)... If I order a $1600 Sig MPX and then she finds out about my recent purchases, I will be done for...
