Does anyone know what’s going on with this company? As I understand it, the Nodak Spud guys joined up with the JJE Capital firm (Palmetto State Armory, AAC ammo, etc) to restart the H&R brand to make retro rifles. I go to the website and it keeps saying “check back later.” I was hoping they would start up.

Very nice. Now, for the rest of us . . . .
CMP seems to still have an abundance, albeit in rack grades. Roll the dice (or better yet, visit the Talladega Marksmanship Park and peruse the inventory). You can bet that 2 or 3 original rackers will cost less than 1 modern reproduction - at least as it pertains to Garands.

Some items from their retro M16A1 line are starting to appear on PSA website...

If you're interested in buying H&R retro items, you should subscribe to the following thread on AR15.com.

Mike Wetteland, former owner of Nodak Spud and current CEO of H&R, started the thread and posts updates when items are going to be available. There have been a few runs of both uppers and lowers released so far and they tend to sell out in minutes. Don't rely on PSA's notification system to let you know when they're in stock.
