I really enjoyed many facets of this book. He is not a big writer but I like his style, and story...
I believe a few of us here would actually appreciate it
book might be hard to find on amazon as the title is/was mislabeled.

anyone else read it?

Yes, I was there on Arfcom from the beginning of the story. The story-line sometimes seems to be a bit closer to Possible Reality than Science / Historical Fiction than I would really like (cause the Current Real Reality seems to sometimes be headed in the direction of TSS) but good Cautionary Tales often do! I also recommend you read Injured Reserves by DC Bourone as well. Not an easy read by any stretch but VERY Good!

I also started with it many years ago, so glad it wasn't lost. i have Injured reserves as well. these and Matt Brackens domestic enemies trilogy and "one second after" are my most recommended reads

Just bought them both for Kindle... searched the author, no trouble finding the books. It recommends reading Injured Reserve before Soldier's Son.

Injured Reserve is different, unlike any book I have ever read. I like it!

Soldier's Son is Excellent! Again, unlike anything I have ever read. Very good at using several paragraphs, or several pages, to describe events that happen in seconds. Technically precise. Simple plot, but it reads like peeling an onion to discover the background.

I've got a lot left to read in Soldier's Son. Lovin' it!

Started reading it. I am enjoying it, but I think this author needs a much better editor.
A lot of repetition. Certain phrases, ideas, thoughts, repeated over and over. Yes. They tried to assassinate president twice. We get it, no need to say it 25 more times in 5 pages, etc.
No need for every character to repeat it.

But I see this a lot with cheap amazon books. Not a deal killer, just a minor irritation. I look forward to next reading session, which is about all you can ask for in a book I guess.

Finished these books. Have to say I enjoyed them very much.

And, I think a lot of the problems I was having was NOT the editing, but rather the formatting of my particular device.
