Have an M&P 15-22? Inspect it NOW!

Checked 35ish so far. All were fine. About an 18 month range of production dates too.

Pretty sure that they just don't know which lots are good and which are not. Hence the blanket notice.

If you are in the Fuquay holly springs area I can probably measure for you just send me a message.

Anyone receive an acknowledgment or shipping notice on the gauge/tool? I have not (yet).

Did the "Me" test above and the bolt seems flush with the shell case.

I make no guarantee about the 100 accuracy of my tool. Fyi. The micrometer is old and worn, but the readings were consistent for all the times I measured

Is the envelope marked as coming from S&W?

Yes. The return address is Smith&Wesson with notation "Important Safety Notification." There is a card inside the envelope to which the tool is taped: the back side of the card has photographs of GO/NOGO fit.

Thanks GG. We have a way of throwing out rebates and other stuff that only appears to be junk mail.

Anyone found a "no-go" yet?

Does it look like this? I was assuming it was a notice of the recall, but maybe it’s the part. It’s in my daily USPS email for delivery today.

That’d be it. ;)

Wifeys gauge showed up today and her rifle checked out fine.

Still waiting for my gauge but I'm not worried about it. If I wanna shoot it, I'm going to shoot it. Evidently, Smith is not worried about it.

Mine was in the mailbox when I got home today. Bolt checked out fine.

My gauge (thickness) measures .95mm and/or .0375in

My bolt is also in spec.

Mine was just exactly flush. Maybe less than a hair under.

After I cleaned it...

Same here. I was a little worried at first but after a little cleaning it fit just below flush.

My rifle, with factory blue spring, is also in spec, :) got the test gauge today in the mail.

Reactions: Me.
Mine is good. But the SN also said it wasn’t affected, so not a surprise. :D

FWIW...

Saw PSA post up they had S&W come to their warehouse and verify every 15-22 in stock passed inspection. So if you’re looking for one, theirs should all be GTG.

I got mine from PSA with red dot and bag around Xmas or new years. Got my gauge the other day and it's G2G. Did have to clean the cartridge recess in the bolt face out to get it to fit. I wonder if that is part of the problem. Bolt face and recess was really fouled after only 100rnds of CCI Mini Mag.

Just learned of this issue. Anybody have a gauge they don't need? I sent them an email, waiting to hear from them.
