I opened the safe door to put the desiccant back in. Guns come pouring out, the @!#*¥!! clips bent and failed. Of coarse this happened when I’m running a fever and feeling like dog squeeze.
Are there decent shelf clips out there?

I have those all over the house, including holding up thick glass shelves with tons of stuff, tons of books and, of course, in safes. Are you 100% sure you had the top leg inserted properly?

I have loaded them up much more than guns could possibly weigh and never had a problem. Maybe you got a knock off or a bad one. Look for

Knape & Vogt 256P-ZC Shelf Support

The busted one in the OP pic appears to be generic - no brand on it where the KV clips have it. Chinesium most likely.

I have loaded mine up but not to 500 lb per clip!

The four clips were holding a 16”x16” shelf with a few ARs and uppers.
I’d have lost my shiitake if the 36”x16” top shelf of pistols hit the floor.

I purty sure. They’ve been there for 7+ years.
They’re the clips it came with, Chineseium.
The two on the left fell out, the one on the right hasn’t been used.
Pro tip, use a sharpie to mark where you want the clips.

If any of those are really virgin, they sure look like crap to me. Below is a photo of the KV clip. Notice how the diagonal leg (that actually supports the shelf’s weight) is already bent on yours and straight on the KV.

Yup, I assumed that was the proble & bent mine close to 90 deg. They wouldn’t stay in and pop right out before I could get the shelf on it.

I'm not sure what the difference is but I ordered some KV 256 clips for my safe a few years ago and they work perfectly. I just looked on amazon and they are almost half the price of the 239's. They are steel vs some of the cheap aluminum that comes in some safes or with other shelves.
