I’m sitting here pondering how I can continue ragging on @draco88 when the phone rings. It’s MICROSOF, calling. From the area code, it must be their office in upstate NY.

I answer in my most serious voice and the guy begins speaking words I can’t possibly understand. When he finally paused, I asked him to repeat himself. It seems my computer, license number ending in 12345, has contacted their server indicating severe security issues. I respond, “OMG, thank you for calling” and hang up.

A few minutes later, Mr Gates calls back and asks why I terminated the call. I explained I was extremely grateful for his call, I’d had no idea and wanted to get to work on the issue immediately. He says, “But we will fix it for you. Are you a tech?”

“Yes”, I respond. He asks, “For who?”

I answer, “Microsoft”.

This time, he hangs up.

I didn’t even have a chance to ask him to say hi to Melinda.
