Vegas is generally very 2A friendly and I've never had an issue traveling there.

I usually travel with either a Kahr CM9 or Glock G26 with one extra mag, pocket and IWB holsters.

I was contemplating bringing a full-size as well as a pocket gun...

I think I will probably end up bringing the G26 with some extra mags and at least one G17 mag...

Thoughts?

I think your G26 and maybe a couple mags is good. It's not of the level that screams nut and is well within the realm of someone that is reasonably concerned about their safety.

Fill your left pocket w/ gaming chips so when the next gambling junkie flips his wig, you fling the chips on the floor, he'll exclaim, "OOOO chips!!" scramble around on his hands & knees scrounging chips and all you have to do is walkup and put two from your 26 behind ear of choice.....What? Too soon?

Go see the Hoover Dam. There is also a state park not far out of town. Vegas itself is great if you like lots of lights and tons of people.

As always, the odds that you need a gun are one in a gazillion, the odds that you need a bigger gun are one in a bazillion gazillion. Take what you feel comfortable with.

If you can afford it take the helicopter tour of the dam, the Grand Canyon and a stop at the sky bridge for good measure.

Were I to visit Vegas I'd be too loaded to have a loaded pistol in my possession....The only shooting I'd be a part of is shots of penicillin in my left ass-cheek.

We did the helicopter tour of the dam. We took one that was out closer to the dam. The ones that left from town were much more expensive.

My grandparents used to tell the story of doing the Grand Canyon by mule and driving into vegas in a convertible with the top down and encountering a tornado. This bring back memories from 40 years ago,

If there was a copy cat I dont believe either pistol would do you a ton of good.
Enjoy your trip, dont worry too much.

I stopped going to Vegas years ago, just flatly refused. It seemed like all of the industry conferences I was involved in just had to be in Vegas so the organizers could gamble. When about 20 - 25% of the attendees stopped going it finally dawned on them that the venue was an issue.
I hate Vegas for a few reasons, it never gets dark there, it's never quiet and it sure as hell isn't deserted at any time.

My earliest memory of LV was as a young kid when our parents took all of us there. Not sure about my age but I'm guessing maybe 7 or 8. The most vivid memory I have is of walking through the hotel parking lot and seeing a drunk bent over heaving onto a car. It was at that moment that my opinion of the city was formulated...

Las Vegas is the place where people go to do stuff they wouldn't want their neighbors to see them doing.

Nudie bar
If you’re looking for a recommendation, the only real choice is the Palamino club. As odd as it sounds, while Las Vegas May has a lot of scantily clad entertainment, it very much limits the combination of liquor and nudity.

Eff the Skywalk with a cinder block sideways.

The Legacy Gold Package is the Ticket Price of $82.37 Per Adult for the Grand Canyon Skywalk. This has caused some confusion over time. You CANNOT buy a Ticket for the Grand Canyon Skywalk ONLY. You MUST buy the Legacy Gold Package OR Legacy VIP Package to enter the Skywalk -OR- it MUST be included in the Tour you book from Las Vegas.

The Legacy Gold Package Includes:
– Entrance Fee to the Hualapai Tribal Lands
– Skywalk ticket to walk on the glass bridge over the Grand Canyon.
– Meal at viewpoint of your choice.
– Photo opportunities with Hualapai Members
– Hop-on-Hop-off shuttle to all 3 viewpoints

Yeah but it was cool. And all of that was included with the helo tour.

Edit. Fwiw that is a very poor tribe from what I saw. Tourism is their main source of income.

My main "fun" will actually be golf. I like desert courses so hopefully my buddies will pick a cool course.

I don't drink or gamble (biggest gamble I ever took in Vegas was getting married and that was a sure bet!)

Strip clubs suck without my better half which makes it a totally different experience.

Conference is actually pretty packed as far as schedule and I'm a speaker. Probably just walk the strip people watch and eat good food.

Craps... Be the gray man and bet against the roller... Jager and Red Bull makes it good time and they can't fake it with cheap booze... Everything else will work itself out...

It's been a long time since I went to LV. Can you still take liquor & beads to the indians & trade them for their land?

I would have ditched the conference and gone to one if not all ranges there that rent rattle guns and then contibuted $100 to a legitimate needs organization there.
