Heckler & Koch: No Guns For Israel

I wonder if they will offshore production to the US like Sig did to get around that? Germany has some screwed up export laws. They nailed Sig for selling to a Brazilian PD IIRC.

With the Euro worth around $1.20, they could profitably export from their Georgia factory in addition to supplying the US market.

So options Israel builds them under purchased license, Hk sells them from non-German plant, Uncle Sam handles the transfer, or some third world dump not on the hate list does for a tidy profit. Israel never even sees a dip in supply, and Hk/Germany never see a dip in profits, but look like they care to whatever moronic group they're attempting to appease. Sanctions are a joke unless you're smoking tonnage to keep it from getting there.

It may be good that HK is opening a factory in the US. Germany and its asinine laws and liberal reasoning are the reason for this. Israel will get firearm from other suppliers.

What is it with firearm manufacturers operating in some of the most anti-gun areas, American companies included. - I mean, we've got NY, CT, MA for some of the biggest manufacturers here.

Libs have little trouble taking tax money from any source they can.

But non-snarky, the big cities used to be where manufacturing happened. Just look at the history of SF, they used to make all sorts of things and have a lot of industry. Over time it gets pushed out to other areas and then eventually off shore but the whole industrial revolution and people moving from farms to the city wasn't so they could work at facebook, it was to work in the factories in the cities. The gun industry has just survived the push, sorta.

I'm not much of a firearms historian but it seems to me that the traditional firearms industry grew up in that region. People worked for a company, left and opened their own company, maybe taking some colleagues with them. Perhaps it was like Lamborghini leaving Ferrari and opening up nearby. H&K's new plant is in Georgia.

I seem to recall something from about five years ago that HK didn't want consumer business either.

Does Israel even use any HK firearms?

Afaik they use X95, Jericho, M4, basically all either cheap/free American guns or domestic made.

I love the triggers of most CZ's. I traded for a CZ P-09SR and was impressed with the trigger pull for a factory pistol. But back to IWI, I never have liked their bullpups and didn't care for the pistols. I can't say I care for many of the HK pistols (USP and VP9 are my favorites that they make) any better but really love their sub guns and rifles.

The Jericho may not be an exact clone of a CZ but it's pretty darn close. I had the itch for a Tavor, but after holding one, it felt like... "an adult toy," and I don't mean like guns and 4WD trucks, I'm talking about the kinda thing @Chdamn keeps in his basement, so I never got around to shooting it.
The Galil on the other hand, I absolutely loved... My love for the Jericho is immeasurable. No, it's not light, it's not compact, but the round always goes where I'm thinking... always.

I get that. My favorite pistol I have ever shot is a Sig. I almost bought a Tavor, but decided against it after shooting one. I just am a huge fan of the HK piston guns and stamped steel sub guns. I have enough tried up into a MR556 and two 416 barrels to buy a small country, but it is my favorite firearm I own.
