Welcome. We’re a little weird, but we’re a lot of fun

Hello, you'll have fun, and learn a lot, not all of it firearm related!

A couple friends have sent me emails over the past couple of years with links to posts by forum members, usually target shooting info.
Im on a couple other forums related to beekeeping & trapping and decided to “bite the bullet” and join.

Welcome, we're happy to have you with us.

Glad to have you.
I live in the other end of the state, but we go to OBX every year for a week of fishing. Usually stay in Hatteras or Frisco.
Headed down this year the week of April 14th.
Maybe we could meet and have a brewski or something.

Welcome! Went to OBX for the first time last September with my family. We stayed just across from Bodie lighthouse. What a great time. Went there to try and reel in some reds but we were about three weeks too early.

Ya wouldn't happen to know my Ole Pard Ron Strachan that had the gun store up there would ya? By the way, Gladdahavu!

Greetings and welcome to CFF. Happy to have you here with us.

Greetings
Im new to this forum, looking to learn more around varmit hunting, getting back into reloading and all around more shooting.

If you are looking for a place to shoot there is the Dare County Shooting Range in Manns Harbor. A lot of people are not aware of this.

Yes I would. Ron closed his shop and is working in Elizabeth City,N.C. the last I heard.

Is he a Ron Junior? I know of a Ron Strachan he would be in his mid 80's now and was one of the founders of the Outer Banks Gun Club. Thought he lived in Nags Head.

ECNC,
That’s him. Ron moved from Nags Head years ago to Currituck County. He closed his gun & leather shop last year. I think he is working at Chauncey’s Pawn Shop in Elizabeth City.

Well I'll be. I have seen him in there. Knew the guy looked familiar to me when I have been in there. Just could not place it. It has been a while since I have been in Chauncey's, so not sure if he is still there.

He is wheel chair bound now. He called last week and we had a long talk. We have been trading guns since 1988. He has been here twice. He left the pawn shop and is now just at home. He was making horse hide leather products in the 70s. I have a HH holster for a J frame that is worn Shiney on the back side.

Thanks for the update. I just sent a text to someone that knew him and they told me the last they knew he was living in Jarvisburg. Sucks that he is confined to a wheel chair.
