I currently have 27" modified barrel and would like to get a rem choke barrel since this is now my primary shotgun. It is mostly used for sporting clays, turkey shoots, and I do prefer a mid bead/front bead combo. Looking at midway, there are a bunch of options, anyone have a recommendation for a barrel that will offer some flexibility? I already have a slug barrel if the need ever arises.

Is it a LT 20 on the light weight frame (most common) or is it a early model heavy 20 built on the 12 ga frame Early Model 1100 and 870 20 Ga. shotguns were built on the 12 Ga. frame. The serial number ends in an "X" or a "N". if it has a X or N serial number they do not make barrels for it anymore if its a I would go with a 26 or 28 inch remchoke barrel and never worry about it again

I got mine on eBay. There are usually a good many on there.

Thanks for the recommendations. I will keep an eye out on ebay for a barrel. @vaskeet I literally do not know any decent gun smiths around here in Charleston. The one time I had a repair done at a place I thought would be good, the gun still did not function right.

Briley will install thin wall chokes, flush or extended, in your current barrel. A student of mine just sent a K80 SK/SK barrel to them to have that work done. That being said the Mod choke is the perfect all around 12 ga choke for Clays.
