I’m sitting in the County Commissioners meeting where they’re getting ready to discuss 2A Sanctuary Status.

I’ll be updating notes as we go...

1. Actually I’m in the overflow area. From what I can see in the main chamber, there’s a pretty even mix of Demanding Mommies and 2A supporters.
 
2. Audio here in the overflow sucks
 
3. Sign ups to speak are very long, I’m not going to make it on the list.
 
4. Foregoing the usual business and going straight to public comments.

1st speaker...against 2A resolution, male, associated with Moms. Typical stats being cited, essentially anything short of universal
Background checks is a loophole.

2nd speaker...”gun violence survivor” dude is local leader of Moms. “NRA controls agenda”

Says the right is looking for “civil war”

3rd speaker: retired Army Major, sworn to uphold constitution. Supports 2A - “who is gonna take your guns?” Essentially saying LEO aren’t going to do it, and .mil is not allowed. Cites SCOTUS individual right affirmation

WHOA!!!! Wrapped up the above by saying Sanctuary status is not necessary.

Educate me, what 2a powers does the county level have other than restrictions on where one can tote a firearm?

No authority to issue laws (save for ordinances if granted such right by states), but in controlp of majority of enforcement ....
