**Not a writer and photo skills suck, so bear with me lol**
So, my Father in Law, aka PawPaw, has been drooling over these things since he first read about them.
I just happened to be on a mini-road trip today and kinda just wandered into a lgs where I was....and boom. There it was in the rack...and at a good price (about $75 cheaper than in my neck of the woods).
Since pawpaw has a birthday coming up soon, I figured what the heck and went ahead and picked it up. I think he's gonna like it, because I surely do.
This is not something I would normally look at for myself, a lever action shotgun just seems so alien to me. But after getting it home and really fiddling around with it, this little sucker might change my mind.
The action is smooth as butter...but it's a Henry, it should be lol. The wood is checkered walnut and solid. The whole gun is solid...and tight. No wiggles anywhere. Brass beaded blade front sight and the rear is a notched ramp for elevation and has a little screw for windage. It has a vented rubber recoil pad. There are no external safeties on it. It has an internal transfer bar safety that disengages as the trigger is pulled. There are two swivel sling studs, one front and one rear. Its tube fed and holds 5x2 1/2" shells with a 20" barrel. The receiver is pre drilled and tapped for an optic.
It's short enough that it swings around really easily, comes naturally into my shoulder pocket, and the sights kinda just line themselves up, at least for me. Like I said earlier, the action is smooth. With a little practice, I could easily get two birds, or maybe three if youre an expert lol. Its got a short enough OAL (website says 40.5") I don't think it would be any kind of problem in the brush looking for rabbits.
Overall, I had a very good first impression of it. I can't wait for pawpaws birthday to give it to him...so I can promptly borrow it for a couple of weeks lol.
It is a very nice gun.
