Throw the puck at the net enough and good things happen. Simple hockey. And the Canes looked quicker most of the night. Shame to see a talent like Ovechkin go home, but it is a team game.
Couldn't believe how much more energy the Canes seemed to have in OT compared to caps. Ovie seemed to log a lot of mins in OT too. Hopefully Svech and Ferland can come back for the second round. I saw both did the practice pre skate before game 6 and 7.
Hate it for the Caps but love it for the Canes. I actually think the Canes have a better chance of beating the Islanders than the Caps would have. Look forward to seeing this next round. My son will be ecstatics when he hears that the Canes won, this morning! Can’t wait to see his grin.

Yeah we were talking about it last night. Since the caps were the number 1 seed if they’d won they’d be exhausted going into round two.
The canes beating the number 1 seed in a game 7 double OT win will send them into the second round energized and thinking they can beat anybody.

This Canes team is very young compared to past teams but also have some veteran leadership and are very hungry to go to the finals. Rod Brind'amour IMO was a great choice for a coach considering his NHL background. GO CANES

So excited for them! This extra rest will give them an advantage in the next round. I think they have a really good shot at the cup.
Had dinner with a Bruins fan last night (and Im a Rangers guy)
He brought up a good point - since their start they've only made the playoffs a FEW times...but every time they go pretty far. Is this a trend for them this year too?
