Found you guys while looking for some other info. Seems like a nice little polite society (unlike some of the characters on another site I recently joined).

Lifelong North Carolinian (except for that hot wet summer in Ft. Benning in 1984; no-I do not mean Moore.) 😄 Happily married to a fine Georgia peach/Southern belle. :)

Retired as a shift lieutenant at a medium sized Sheriff's Office; was senior firearms instructor, TASER Instructor. I let my instructor certs die after retirement from full time. I was on the range SO MUCH it quit being fun, and only recently started enjoying going to the range again. Still working 32 hours a week as an officer at a State facility.

Hobbies aside from shooting are surfing the Net, photography, and driving all around Western NC (and sometimes Coastal NC and North GA).

Glad to see another native here, also spent Aug-Dec of 1983 at Benning. Basic, AIT, Airborne, was missing the mountains in that Georgia heat!!

I was E-5-1 at Sand Hill for Basic (was NC National Guard 2nd/120th Mechanized Infantry). And yes-I still recall the heat and humidity...and how fast it could go from blue skies to rain drops that splattered out as big as silver dollars on hitting the concrete!

Welcome to the forum. I'm part time western NC. That may change when my wife decides to close down her real-estate company and we move to our mountain house.
