The C&E Gun Show is at the Hickory Metro Convention Center this weekend. This is usually a pretty good show. Hickory tends to have more private sellers walking in with guns than a lot of the larger shows.

It will be interesting to see if Coronavirus panic affects attendance at all.

We will be there with a free squirt of hand sanitizer with every gun sold. Who else is going?

Gun show this coming weekend in Greenville as well. They hold it in the Convention Center and the one thing I don't like about that is if you want a can of soda, it'll cost you $2.50.

My birthday is Sunday, so I expect a squirt of sanitizer for each hand; not just one.

I’ll be there Saturday morning. I’ll have the P365Xl I’m trying to sell with me unless it goes beforehand.

You may or may not have been wondering ,but the promoter says the show is still on. He has had municipalities cancel shows in larger markets - like Columbus OH and Philly, PA. Health departments in some localities are cancelling all public events.

If I hear anything different, I'll post here. We are still planning our Coronavirus sale. Maybe you'll at least get some amusement out of our various signs for it.

You gonna bring any surplus TP? It would be a best seller... or at least good for a laugh!

I was headed to one in Birmingham next weekend. It just got cancelled with no reschedule date. I'll pass thru hickory tomorrow if it's still a go

Off topic.

It's street legal. I drive it around hickory on ocassion. I raced locally for 34 yrs but never a mod. When I got out I bought one and converted it to a street rod

I’ve thought about it.

Hickory is still a go. We are setting up now. We will be giving away a free squirt of hand sanitizer with every gun sale and have signs to that effect. Lol

What I’m about to say is not hype to try to get you to the show. Just passing on what I was told by a guy here who works for the convention center. He said starting Monday there will be a restriction on gatherings over 100 people. They have lost all their events for the foreseeable future.

The expectation of the promoter is that shows after this weekend will be cancelled for an indefinite period of time. FYI if you have some pressing need to go to a show.

If you ain't doing the squirting, keep an eye on that bottle.

I've watched ammo walk away from the Georgia Arms table.

It will be under lock and key.

A few of my signs. My wife thinks the first one is funny, but likely to hurt snowflake feelings and make gun people look bad. I probably won’t use it.

Yeah. I’m cheaper than Aim and Classic for sure.
Im going to keep you in mind then. The last show I went to didn't have a single one that I could find.

I say put it up. I like it.

Reminds me of a buddy of mine I’ve tried to get to the range for several years. He has a 15-22 that’s 2+ years old and never been fired. He said he’d stock up on food and I could stock up on ammo. I told him I thought it was a great plan...because if I had my ammo, I also would have his food.

(He did finally go with me between Christmas and New Years, but failed to bring the 15-22)

It's hilarious, but it will probably piss a lot of people off....unfortunately.

I'd say go for it, for precisely that reason, but I'm trying to behave like an adult these days....unfortunately. lol.

I would think this would be a chance to buy at better pricing than previously. A lot of vendors are not going to see another bank deposit for awhile. Good opportunity to negotiate. I’ll be there Saturday morning with the other mouth breathers leaning over your shoulder.

Yep, that is possible. I'm considering my pricing, but if shows are shut down for a while, I'll put more stuff on Gunbroker. More work , but also possibly more money.

At any rate, I'm evaluating what to drop tonight. I don't know how many other dealers are thinking along the same lines. I can tell you that the customer's attitude will, as always, play heavily into how low I'm willing to go. ;)

Glad I read this before coming tomorrow.

Have I told you lately that I love you?

If I make it to the show, I'll be glad to show you what would be a good idea to drop the price on. Then I'll be happy to re-home it.:)

Pretty decent. About normal sized so far. Definitely not a panic crowd but they aren’t scared of getting sick. Dealer numbers are pretty decent considering they had some cancellations. Some empty tables scattered here and there, but there are plenty of dealers. Some came from shows that were cancelled in PA and OH.

Judging by what I see at the show, the days of 16 cent 9mm are over.

Defender Ammo (dealer) was selling a heck of a bunch of ammo. He said he was almost out of 22lr. Others normal pricing so not so much sold. I really did not see that many people carrying an item. I bought some ammo.

I Did talk to a man who wanted $2400 for a CZ 410 Huglu shotgun. He told me the used $500 gun was special because of the wood. He wanted $3000 for a gun I looked up on Gunbroker that sells for $350. Interesting ole fella. Of course he was going to make me a deal if I bought it today.

I learned an important lesson today. Unfortunately, with the prospect of no more gun shows (hopefully only for a while), I learned it too late.

I brought a recently purchased gun to show @cubrock and then carried it around the show in a rug. I had about a dozen people ask what I was carrying and how much I wanted for it. Now I understand how @edwardyoung and others are able to consistently sell guns in shows without a table.

Just got word. Show is cancelled tomorrow. Dealers can get in to pack up at 9.

Cancelled why? It was safe to be there Saturday but Sunday isn’t safe????
