This weekend is the Hickory, NC gun show. 12/30-12/31 at the Hickory Metro Convention Center. This is usually a pretty good show, with good attendance and people blowing their Christmas money.

We'll be there in the back room. Who else is going?

Might go and look around, be something to do!

I'll be there Saturday morning, looking for a MAK90 and probably carrying around a Mosin. I'll swing by your table and say hello.

You could probably get a table if you wanted to set up.
I'll be honest, Im not feeling it this weekend.
I have to go back to work next week and just want to take in these last few days of relaxation.
Plus, I havent enjoyed a gun show in a bit. No, dont take that the wrong way, working them is fun. But I dont get to just walk around and take it all in.

Roger that. Don't blame you at all. You've got a chair with us if you want to take a load off.

Very kind of you
Think it'll be me and the girl Ive been seeing
I'll def stop by and say hello!

I may stop by the show. Hard to plan that far ahead.

The Hickory show is one if the better shows for older Smiths.

Probably be there Sunday with my step dad.

What time do the doors open? 7 or 9?

Doors open to the public at 9 AM on Saturday, 10 AM on Sunday.

I forget how this show works. Can I skip the line if I buy tickets early online? I'll probably bring Olivia with me and don't want to wait outside with her in the cold. Not even 8 months old yet. If not, I'll just plan on getting there after the line dies down.

EDIT: Disregard. Just went to the website and did not see an option to purchase tickets online like the Dixie Gun Shows.

Not sure re: buying tickets online. However, this one does have a large foyer/lobby that can accommodate a lot of people in line before you have to wait outside.

That's right. I've gotten there early and spent time in the lobby. We'll see how it goes. Thinking that it will be a smaller crowd tomorrow anyway.

If you don't mind, watch out for 3G S&W autos. :)

Ding-dang it, how am I ever going to get my hands on a 3953 with all you guys already out there?

I planned to go and then our electric dryer required a total disassembly and rebuild. :(

Show was packed much of the day. Bigger crowd than I expected.

I came by your table several times today and you were busy every time I was there.
I only saw 1 MAK90 today and it was a little rougher than I wanted so I left empty handed.
Jerome picked up a couple of revolvers from Backwoods Bang Shop.

I think we should start a collection to get Jerek a few extra tables for paperwork just so we can get down his aisle. I swear some guy was sitting on the floor filling out paperwork. I would love to see a collected aerial view of the foot traffic in the Metro center like those ones they make of rooms used in a house. Glad to see them have that much business.
My dumbbutt picked up 7 1/2 minishells instead of buckshot, so I'll be back tomorrow...

What were the mini shells going for per box?

A guy I know came back at some point today and told me about a Finn 91/30 he snagged as it came in the door. Figured it must have been yours. :)

18 for 7 1/2, 22 for slug and buckshot. Not great, but I really wanted to try out my mini shell adapter.
Yep the Aguilas arent cheap & stay sold out.
Guess you're running the Op-sol in a Mossberg?
So far mine runs great!

Also, if somebody could go buy that 4" H&R 999 on the back row so I don't buy it tomorrow, that would be real swell.

Is that on the same table as the long tube Model 17? The 999 is a great reasonably priced plinker.

The guy with the huge collection of Smiths and Colts moved his table to the front wall. Too bad this stuff is overpriced and he has a lot of counterfeit labels on non-matching boxes. Also saw a guy selling a snubby nickel Model 34 with a fake box label. Really cannot stand the fake label trend...it's basically fraud because these folks generally stop short of claiming authenticity, leave the question open (for those who don't spot it immediately), but have actual knowledge that the labels are fake. Just crap. Idiots.

I called the one guy out at the Salisbury show and yesterday he made every effort to avoid eye contact. Ha. I guess it'g good that he doesn't actually sell anything at those bloated prices. He just uses the show to buy from walk-ins.

EDIT: If a person displays or sells a Smith revolver, or any gun for that matter, with a fake box label they are a punk bitch. No exceptions. And, they should be kicked in the nuts. Did I mention that they are a punk bitch? Don't want to forget that part.

Heading that way now to meet my step dad (who's looking for his first carry gun).

As an added bonus, my voted for Bernie, California living little brother (who is 35 and ought to know better) is coming along to see all the stuff he's not allowed to own by his local government.

I'm in my favorite black CFF t-shirt (over a black Smartwool base layer 'cause 25 degrees).

I'd expect gun show promoters would crack down on dishonest sellers in pursuit of maintaining their show's brand equity. On the other hand, wasn't it the Salisbury promoter that cracked under pressure from exhibitors intent on making sure consumers don't get legitimate deals that are too good (i.e., BBS)?

Which table is yours? We'll stop by and say hi. Im trying to talk the missus into going out and walking around with me. Bribing her with a trip to Cracker Barrel after lol.
In case you haven't gone (wasn't sure if CB was lunch or supper), he had some maroon/burgundy tablecloths at the last show I saw him at. No idea where he is set up. Maybe that helps?
