The Hickory Gun Show is this weekend at the Hickory Metro Convention Center. Typically a pretty good show. We’ll be there in the back room.

Depending on how demo work goes on the new house this week, I may bring a bunch of reloading stuff that I’d rather sell than move, including at least one Dillon 550 and a bunch of components. We will see if I have time to dig back to them.

Who else is going?

I'm planning on it.

Id like to, but having a waterday party with my youthgroup kids.

I was a youth pastor back in the day. I don’t think a gun show visit would have flown with most of our youth group. They would have found it boring. Didn’t have too many antis, though.

I'm thinking about riding up there...but I have no money and nothing to trade :(
Exactly what I said before buying my first gun.

I'll be there Sunday with a friend helping him decide on a new carry pistol.
I carry a taurus g2...12 rd magazines, comfortable grip, great price point around 200 if you are patient. If u r really patient you can go to raise.com and get cabelas or bass pro gift cards for 15% less than face value and save more.

Or, you don't need to be so patient. BBS has some for $199 plus tax. ;)

Just left. Pretty good selection of stuff.

The pheasant jerky is.......odd.

Got a sling and oiler for an M1 Carbine......and a no shit Continental 8 Dollar note from 1776.

There's still a M1795 flintlock musket sitting on a table that was manufactured in 1812. I felt it would be terrible for a peice of awesome history like that to be destroyed when my wife broke it over my cranium..... even though it was priced to move at $1095 ( cheaper than a Pedersoli reproduction of the same model).

EDIT: the frizzen on the musket still moved freely - I'm guessing the cock does too. Man....that would be cool to have.

Glad someone found a deal. All I saw we're AR15s, coins, knives, beef jerky, peanuts, t-shirts, lawnmower blade sharpeners, watch polishers, and a table full of cigars. Biggest waste of $9 I've ever done. I did talk to cubrock for a minute as there were more guns on his tables than in the main hall lol.

It's pitiful that gunshow promoters have to use non-gun vendors to fill up 50% of their tables .

Agreed. Waste of time and money.

Sorry to hear you guys had a bad time. Gun shows can really be a crap shoot these days. We found some cool stuff, but we were there Friday through Sunday, which is definitely a different experience than visiting the show for a few hours.

A factory engraved Walther TPH pistol came in today that we were able to snag. I never knew they did factory engraved TPHs. This one is an Interarms import (most are) with box, papers, etc. Really neat piece which will be my next research project.

Also picked up a Japanese Type 18 Murata, which you rarely see these days.

I went Saturday. Bought two different types of speed loaders I didn’t need. Enjoyed the crowd of mouth breathers hovering over my neck and drooling over cheap Chinese knives. Looked like Walmart on late Saturday night. Seems like more cheap jewelry, cigars, goat milk soap, and backpacks flood the place than guns. Not sure why I go every year. I should take up smoking crack like most of this four county region.

I walked by goat milk soap and didn't even notice? :(

I bought a bar of that goat milk soap at the show once. It turned to mush in a couple days but I had a yearning for a bikini waxed barn animal after the shower.

I just hate myself for driving 200 miles and missing the one true treasure to be found in the show. But at least I got to sample some homemade Gerbil Jerky.
