Hiking, rucking or woods self defense?

Get a Hill People Gear chest bag for concealment or a kenai rig for open carry... You won't even notice it with your other gear.
+1 for the HPG kit bag. Solid gear designed and built by true outdoorsmen who use their own stuff on a regular basis. Highly recommended. They integrate well with packs too if that’s the route you want to go. Mine is primarily set up for fishing in the front pocket and carry in the rear pocket. It is a two handed draw though, one to open the compartment and one to draw the pistol.

@CZfool68

If yow wanna check out the HPG bag or kydex chest rigs stop by next time you are headed through the area.
If I had some weirdo stranger running up and down my road carrying a pack for no apparent reason I would have kept the crosshairs on him the whole time. ;)

It is not their road. It’s my road dammit. Or at least we have more road frontage than anyone else. And technically they put the road by our house in the wrong spot. So we own the road. I’ve joked about putting a toll booth in to collect $ from the people that live above us. 😜

Instead of a ruck with a useless plate in it, why not do a full load out, with a shotgun or rifle? ;)

Cause I’m an aging athlete not an ‘operator’. Plus on public trails it causes less panic. But I’ve been tempted just to clear some extra walking space on the tobacco trail by my house. When the weather is good it’s a bit too crowded.

Glad to hear you were armed and everything worked out but I do think 3’ is too close. I’ve been bit 3x as a kid, 2 by large dogs, needless to say I’m a little biased.

Aggressive dogs are the main reason I carry a small OC spray. $13 on Amazon, discreet design, small size, very potent formula, and far better than having to shoot a dog.

Hard to pull a big gun while seated on anything. Anybody tried one of those chest rigs listed above?
