Well I was involved in a hit and run according to the yadkinville police department. Apparently I backed out of my parking spot at work and did not see the car coming the other way. Nor did I feel it when I backed into them. So much damage to my car. A good buff out will take it away IMG_5564.jpegIMG_5563.jpeg

Did they charge you?
He just asked for my information so I sent it to him. He spoke with a few people and HR. And they all said I was the type of person that would not leave if I knew it. Even the cop said the other car with a good washing and buff job it would probably come out. He just needed my information for the report he said.

It takes two to tango. How are you certain that with two cars moving that you hit them vs them hitting you? I wouldn’t conceed the point. Heck how do you know that they didn’t hit your parked car and then make this claim?

God was with you, it could have been much more.

Where I was parked there was another car parked right next to me. They would have had to hit the other car as well. And unfortunately there was no camera at that area.

The very second they hinted at a potential felony I would have lawyered up. IT’s not too late, but dont wait for any more surprises.

And this is exactly why I call it WackyVille You never know up there.

And they called the police? Suck to have such coworkers.
We had a guy in a former department at work who hit a parking turnstile thingy (university campus). He approached the attendant, gave him his business card, said who he was and who he worked for and that it would get taken care of. An hour later the boss gets a call from HR saying that the cops were called because the employee did a hit and run.

I am slightly confused how this is supposed to have happened without you noticing anything, OP?

So the wife just called and the guy put in a claim against our insurance company which is the same as his. The cop did not take any pictures but he did state it did look like my pictures of my car. He also said there was no holes cracks rips in his rear bumper.

obviously you just need to park fully across two spaces in the future.

I know right. I did not know I parked like that. The funny thing is that spot next to mine is handicap and I know he’s not.

All you know is what the other guy says, you may have been parked like that. But, I don’t see how he could have run into you with the side of his rear quarterpanel. You could have been half-way out of the space and he zipped into the handicap space crossing your path. It all seems unlikely.

I stopped and got some pictures of his car after work. I can see where we touched. But I hope he’s not trying to claim the rest. I didn’t know my car was equipped with tiger paws to do that much scratching. Already spoke with my insurance guy so we are following this to see where it goes.

I don’t mean to be starting anything, but I’m not so sure that they didn’t rub against your parked car to cover a prior accident. The extra width of the handicap space would give them room to maneuver. You said that the spot isn’t covered by video, but any other cameras showing them coming in that might show if they had existing damage?

The location is certainly suspicious and the current collision didn’t cause the underlying damage.

My insurance guy even said that’s not all from my car. The spots on his car and mine match but I still think it’s his word against mine. But told my insurance guy to keep an eye out on the actual claim and see what they are looking for.
