I'm wanting to put an optic on my 1301T. It comes from the factory with a rail section mounted just ahead of the front sight. I'm trying to use some stuff I already have instead of buying a new mount that replaces the picatinny section with a specialized low mount Aridus CROM/Reptilla/GG&G/Scalarworks...

If you have one if the picatinny adapter mounts for a Holosun 507/508 do you know the thickness of the mount from top of rail to top of mount? I'm curious if there's any hope of the existing irons still being useful or if they'll be obscured by mount.

This is my current situation.

I have this one on a Ruger MkIII:
Amazon product ASIN B09SKYDRKN
It raises the optic about 1/4". I can measure it tonight if you need precision.
Now that I'm taking calipers to things it's obvious if I want it right I have to buy more crap. The extra .25 the rail sticks up is the .25 I need to get the gun level and have use of the sights.

I'm pretty sure I have a low mount UTG one kicking around. I'll check my parts bin, and if I've got it you're welcome to borrow it and try it out. I can bring it to next Friday's lunch.

Thanks, but I was able to prove to myself any sight will sit too high. Honestly, I'm not sure why Beretta put the rail there at all because it pushes every low mount picatinny sight a quarter inch too high.
This has me considering options now. Leaning toward Reptilla and Scalarworks with a mailbox.

To make you feel like you're getting something tactical!

I decided a shotgun is probably the one thing I don't need a dot on since its got decent sights anyways. Most of my aiming would be using the flashlight hot spot regardless.

You know how much I hate "tactical" as an adjective...yet even the 1301T has it right there in the name. So, yeah, the shotgun needs to be more Tactical.
I haven't even shot it yet. I was watching videos on YT and it seems like it should have a circle dot reticle like the enclosed sight from Holosun. The YT people report the circle part of the reticle contains all 9 pellets at across the house distances so it got me thinking that made sense from a safety perspective.

Fair enough. Maybe I need to move my 407C with the 8MOA donut over to my A300 and put my spare Riton dot on my PCC.

And then you'll find yourself doing the same thing I am, being dissatisfied with the height it mounts and having to buy a $120 mount for the A300 so you can co-witness.
I've already done the round Robin with the Riton dot between a few PCC and the shotgun. It fits best on the CX4.
I just found that Holosun is now making direct fit SCS for the VP9. That means I can get that and direct mount it to the VP9, then move the 508T to the 1301T so everything is so very Tactical. Today is getting more expensive by the minute. $130 mount and a $430 optic now...

So what you're saying is I need to buy an SCS for my PDP and move my 509T to the A300? 😆

I played around with this when I got my 1301 since I had a few dots (Riton, 508T, 407A, 407C) floating around along with different mounts.
In short, I’m glad I got the optic mount w rear sight for my 1301LTT because both low mounts I had put the sight too high, as you already figured out.

Pretty much. I'm going to have a good laugh if you accomplish this before I do, now that the bug that was in my ear is also in yours.

I'd probably do it if not for wanting to keep a closed emitter on the PDP.
