Holster/Gear for Run and Gun?

Not sure if a decision was made yet, but Tier 1 concealed makes a level 2 (SLS hood) holster that works quite well.

I've been running one on a Safariland qls w/e for a few years in classes and matches. It's been fantastic.

the esstac kywis I've been using for mags have been fantastic also.

Ps my tier 1 holster is for a P10C with TLR1 fits daggers and glocks also, happy accident.
I ended up with the Dara holster since I'm not running a light, and did order a couple of Esstac KYWIs for stage reloads. The rest will be either in chest rig or hydration pack.

What's wrong with a regular owb kydex? The stuff I buy from JM Custom Kydex has retention sufficient to shake the gun in the holster upside down and it stays put.
I've seen more impromptu yard sales than I would like to. Some form of active retention is a very good idea.

Height adjustable, yes. I’m 6’4”, a friend is about 5’8, we can both run them comfortably.

Hydration…I’m kinda drawing a blank on how the straps are arranged in the back. I can take a look later today to send a bladder can be attached or if you can swap for something like a Haley Strategic flat pack
Ended up grabbing one of these off Amazon after realizing I had some gift card leftovers. The shoulder straps aren't individually height adjustable, but you can adjust the position somewhat based on how tight you cinch up the H harness side straps which isn't unique to this setup. Still, two extra adjusters on the straps would have been nice. Will have to brainstorm what I want to do for a hydration pack add-on. I really dislike overlapping straps/harnesses, but I also hate the thought of not being able to remove the pack quickly. I have some ideas to play around with.

Keep in mind as well that you won't "always" want to run a pack on your back. They can get hot and bulky. I typically stuff a 16 oz water in one of the rifle mag pouches on my chest for a 5K. I own a haley flat pack, but have never actually used it during an event.

I lost my footing and rolled down the side of a hill yesterday coming down from painting steel. When I made it to the bottom gravel road I landed on my knee and then bounced over onto the handle of Glock in a Safariland. It stayed put just fine.

There is no way the gun would have stayed put without retention. I’m a believer.

I did it right in front of an entire squad. I think my ego took a bigger hit than my body and my body took a pretty good hit!

Glad you’re ok!

When I was in the navy we had a list of pre-approved kit, vetted gear. You could get your own stuff, but if you did, the rule was you had to wear your full kit through an O-course. If anything fell off or fell out, it would not be approved. Sound like you kinda did the same thing.
