Is it a thing? I have a mess of holsters (mostly left-handed) for which I have no further use. A few leather and a few nylon, but mostly kydex. I hate to just dump them, but I see no other future for them ... unless someone here can work some magic with them.

Any ideas? Any takers?

Bueller?

Get a stack of priority mail boxes from the PO for free when convenient, post the holsters up here for $8 (shipping), then print shipping on your ‘puter, and drop them off at mailbox.

Out of sight out of mind.

I say we start a box of dead holsters and pass it around to paid members. I've got some I could deposit. Due to sanitation concerns, I'd suggest it be Kydex only unless IWB leather wasn't worn for more than a test fit. This only works if we trust nobody will become an entrepreneur. First Friday lunches (today)might be a good way to get the box started and the CFF pony express could move it around the state after that.

I have a good collection, too. And some were my Dad's. Some of those have the look of having been someone else's before that...

In the past (this is how I refer to a time so long ago that # of years is a mystery; could be 5, could be 23), I have tried to sell holsters via ebay & gunbroker; some were quite nice - tooled leather, name brand, excellent condition - at near giveaway prices, and got zero takers.

I don't mean to rain on the parade, but IMO a used commercial market holster collection is part of the landscape. Kinda like 1911 scales and revolver grips. :)

It’s even easier than that. The flat rate stuff (and maybe other PM items?) can be ordered for free and they’ll bring ‘em to you. Just went through checkout for a 10-pack of small flat rate to make sure what I thought I remembered was true.

(you can print a label directly from PayPal if needed, and I think it’s cheaper than buying from the PO…maybe also be able to do it online from USPS but I’ve never tried)

This.

If they're not being used, chances are they'll never be used.

And I'm a big fan of adopting holsters out to a good home.

If you create an account with USPS you can print labels. It's about the same price as paypal.

Hell, you can also tell whomever is on the receiving end, "Email me a label to print". Put the burden on the freeloader (that'd be me) to pay the shipping fee. All you need to provide is your address for the label 'return' info

I am a lefty myself I got some old holsters many I never used that could be put to a good use. I am curious to see how this one goes.

I think anyone who carries for a while develops a healthy collection. Each carry gun I have usually has a couple. And over time which gun I carry changes. So I feel the pain of the “holster pile”. And to echo what was mentioned above, post up a list and you will probably get some takers for sale, or post them in the freebies section.

I have a handful for a Springfield Hellcat, a couple for a 1911, a couple for a Ruger SP-101 .357 2.5" bbl, and a couple for (I think) a Glock 21 or 30sf.
