Three men were killed and two others were injured after dozens of shots were fired by a homeowner in Texas during a home invasion early Sunday, officials said.

The incident happened around 1 a.m. in east Houston after five men wearing ski masks broke into the home, police told KPRC.

The male resident inside then grabbed his weapon and opened fire at the men.

"The homeowner appears to have defended himself," Houston Police Department homicide detective Travis Miller.

One dead outside the house, one dead in the SUV, one out of the suv who later died, two taken to the hospital.

The homeowner was not injured.

Who did they break in on? Marcus Luttrell? That's some good shooting.

Why in the world would five armed, masked men break into the home of one man and shoot it out with him?

Maybe they were paying him back, or punishing him, for something they were all involved in.

All speculation... need Input, Stephanie!

Who needs facts? It’s freaking 2019!

speculate to your hearts content, then don’t print a retraction or apologize when you figure out that your speculation was 180° off base and hour later.

I’m kinda thinking this wasn’t a random thing either. The photos in the article of the area didn’t exactly look high dollar so I’m thinking why also.

Here’s another story link ... https://www.click2houston.com/news/homeowner-fatally-shoots-3-men-during-home-invasion-police-said

On a side note ... wonder what the homeowner was using for defense? Possibly as many as 90 total rounds were fired by all involved??? Being Texas he firearm choice was not to limited and damn well no mag restrictions so he at least wasn’t limited when it came to returning fire ... which he apparently did pretty dang well and put at least 3 scum at room temp and maybe 2 in jail for a while.

OK, so 5 men, all wearing ski masks, two carrying "big guns", enter a house at 1:00 AM. It is safe to say that they meant to do the resident significant harm. Maybe they had the wrong address. It happens. That, and if it was me, I would be looking to change addresses, like last night.

And this is exactly why we need standard magazines (>10 rnd) not tiny magazines.
Democrats want more dead innocent people, not more dead criminals.
And why I have staged both a tube fed M1S90 with 7+1 and an AR with a 30 round mag riding in it plus another 30 rounder within reach ... 8 rounds of 12ga is damn good unless there is a bigger threat than 1 or 2 guys which is trending higher lately. I really am to old to have to use an empty long gun a a club against one or more people trying to do bad things to me ...

Hmmph!!! Next thing you're going to say is that people need ARs and AKs. He should have dropped the dime while they were breaking in.

Most likely an AR or AK or a .22 magnum rifle? Bet one of the dead dues ended up shooting one of the other bad guys on the way out.

I'm glad the homeowner survived.

But this is a bad thing for us as gun people. No matter how necessary it was this shootout will become liberal spin.

Maybe they heard he had guns.:D

I'd really love to know what kind of firearm he had.

Allegedly, the homeowner was armed with an AK.

"Three men died after a botched home robbery of a man who had his fully-loaded AK-47 nearby"

Doubtful it was a literal AK-47, and I turned up my nose at the term "fully loaded," but here's a link nonetheless: https://defensemaven.io/bluelivesma...wSGNklV_SbEqGr0v-tgtYZiGttAGPM14lhwbPRj-7Sk1M

Crime lab's gonna be hating this one.

The 20-year-old man said when he realized it wasn’t a joke, he reached for what the robbers thought was money but instead grabbed his AK-47 and then began shooting at the robbers.

Money? I got yo money, right here. Say hello to my little friend.

Also on deck, some government program to hand out free tourniquets to at risk populations.

dollars to donuts that AK was really a 'choppa', either a Draco or Pap M92. Otherwise would would mistake a rifle for any amount of money (although I have rifles that I have spent alot of money on...)

Anyhow, sounds like a happy ending to what was surely a bad situation for the homeowner.

AK wielding homeowners 1
multiple attackers 0
