Many Democrats have also recently called for the abolition of the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement agency, dead-set in opposition to President Donald Trump’s efforts to crack down on illegal immigration and secure the nation from criminal illegal aliens.

But what happens when those two issues — strict gun control versus strict immigration control — come into conflict? As it turns out, Democrats seem to prefer to side with illegal immigrants and oppose ICE over strengthening the gun control laws they themselves have proposed — laws that would alert certain authorities when an individual fails a background check for an attempted purchase of a firearm.

Republican Florida Rep. Matt Gaetz tweeted on Wednesday, “Democrats in the Judiciary Committee just voted against notifying ICE when an illegal alien fails a background check to buy a gun. They hate ICE so much that they’d keep ICE in the dark when illegals try to get guns!”


Really not sure how / why an illegal would attempt to Legally purchase a Firearm, but read lines 23 & 24

The bill is a purported “bipartisan” effort to strengthen and expand background checks for gun purchases, and Steube’s amendment borrowed the language from a Democratic proposal known as the “Unlawful Gun Buyer Alert Act” — yet the Democrats who’d supported that proposal just voted against the amendment that would do the same thing, only also including illegal aliens and ICE.

Maybe they voted that way ‘cause they realize inter-agency communications NEVER work inside the federal government. How many times have we heard of one agency knowing about a threat and failing to advise other relevant offices? This stuff functions like the first website of the Abnormal Care Act. :mad:

Yes, because once there are enough tolitarian state loving ignorant immigrants from the south we will have 1 party Democrat rule. That is the end game. Then they can get the guns. Standard commie procedure.

It’s obvious to folks who are paying attention. But the Ds have some assumptions built into that game plan that might not pan out how they expect...

Oh certainly, but so far it is proceeding as planned in the EU so they think they’ll get to rule over everybody. And maybe they will. It is much easier to control several competing factions than one unified force. Especially if you have all the guns. If the Marxists can keep the blacks, Mexicans and traditional whites all fighting amongst each,other for scraps then their class envy strategy will work and they will sit in their private jets, government offices and gated communities while we wait in linesmfor crappy DR’s and fast food.

When MA "legalized" medical marijuana they put in a provision to report all mj card holders to the NICS data base as prohibited persons.
They did the same thing with "legalized" recreational mj. The store takes your ID and has to report every purchaser to NICS.
But Democrats being consistent should never be expected.
Reporting an illegal alien illegally trying to purchase a gun means deporting one of their voters. That is always a no no.

Personally I have never heard of anyone being prosecuted for failing a 4473 or even lying on one, have you??

It's true that unless the Dims can get illegals into the country they wouldn't flourish. But Trump is the only one that doing anything about it. For my money he could crap can the "Space Force" and beef up I.C.E. until we get a handle on the situation...

Not failing the background check, but lying on the form, yes. That is how they get you for a straw purchase. There is no statute making straw purchases illegal. What is illegal is lying in a federal form and the first question on the 4473 is whether you are the actual purchaser of the gun.

There was a high profile case a few years ago where a guy got convicted of this when he bought his uncle a blue label Glock, even though the gun was transferred to his uncle through an FFL and his uncle could pass a background check. Uncle sent him a check for the Glock before the guy purchased it, which was the sticking point of why he lost his case. Since he received the money first, he wasn’t the actual buyer. Court ruled he wouldn’t have been lying on the form had he bought the Glock first then uncle sent him a check.

Anywho, similar instances are the only times I know of where someone has been convicted of lying on the 4473. A felon trying to buy a gun? They won’t send anyone out to arrest. A dealer buddy of mine actually called the police in such a circumstance and was told they didn’t have time to mess with it. FBI told him the same thing.

A guy on DC lost his CCP just for going into the MJ shop. They scanned his license and reported it.

I'm assuming so. But more to the point, he could go in and browse the liquor store and be fine. Our buy out the entire thing. But step foot in the MJ shop.....

But that's also a situation set up by states getting in front of the Feds on this issue. All kinds of landmines around this.

If he was just in the shop, not buying, and handed over his license to be scanned he should loose his CCP for being stupid (on so many levels).
