You got a temp ban?
Music aside 😝
I can’t recall anything you’ve posted that would come close to that.
Remember Thad? lol
He had posted a camping trailer, if I remember right, but it didnt have a title or something. Im trying to remember exactly, apologies.
Then he posted something else for sale and I asked if it had a title. Now, lets be honest, I was in a dang mood at the time. No excuse, I shouldve tried harder, but my snark level was high.
Tim gave me a warning and late one night I sort of told him I really didnt care about this new guy adn being nice to him.
Not my finest moment. Not my worst, but it was not kind to be rude to Tim as he was just doing his job.

Anyway, a five day spanking to start the new year.
About five days later Thad left because his feelings were hurt on something else (after a kind member paid for his supporting membership)

That, I do remember. In some ways it reminds me of a statement someone made in regard to our county auxcomm group. He said when it comes to volunteers, you can't fire them but you can make them quit. It was shortly after we had lost a member of a disagreement as to whether or no "en route", which is one of the pro-signs, is one or two words. It matters because in official traffic the word count is an important check. Well, the group organizer at the time, who has since departed this world, showed his ass about the matter and we never saw that member again. Too bad, too because he was a skilled engineer.

I’d hope the ban hammer is only used for seriously nasty posts or spam, not tactful trolling or calling out forum BS.
It sometimes defaults to “random”, and people just get zapped. There’s no explaining it. Frightening.

Despite what others say, you actually have to work pretty hard to get banned around here unless you welch on a deal in the Clasifieds. Those are mostly one shot, one kills.

Xenforo does a better job at tracking so even though the member is banned it shows when they visit even when banned. More specifically, if they’re logged out but still browsing the site.

That is pretty cool

So it tracks the IP well and will automatically show them?
Interesting, cool tech

Yes, it will show a list of addresses you visit from and their frequency of use.

It looks like this and it will tell you if multiple users use the same IP, which is very possible from behind a proxy or vpn. This is me at another site.

The IP and more users are links, but I cleared them for this example.

I was asking this same question last week. I swear it seems like banned members were replying to several of the discussions I was following. On one in particular, I got a notification that a banned member had replied to the conversation. I made a post about it but assumed I was mistaken. Maybe there really is an issue here.

I see a lot of joking going on in this thread but no answer to the question. WHY CAN BANNED MEMBER STILL ACCESS SITE AND REPLY TO POSTS WHILE BANNED????
I honestly don’t think they can. "Reply while banned" that is, because they can’t log in. They can just surf the site while not logged in, and the forum software can see them doing it and shows them as on-line but they are not logged in

Their posts and replies don’t disappear, so it would be easy to see a past post of a member who now shows as banned.

Can you point out a post where a banned member has replied while banned? Because it will show the time they replied, and if it is known that the member was banned prior to that, now we got something to discuss.

Edit: I can think of at least two people who were temp banned for just a week, and they returned when some people might have thought they were banned permanently.

They can’t reply to posts. As to why they can browse the site it’s posted above.

From the neg feedback thread it looks like New Guys are off the chain lately. So, suggesting a new Ban Hammer to keep up with the volume of self induced destruction....
