How long is the wait these days

Tossing around the idea of starting to put some cash back for a can.. Never have before due to it being close to $1000 and always bought guns with that money instead, along with the long wait.

Will use it for 556 mainly, but if I could use it for my 6.5's too, that'd be awesome.. can that work? Maybe a 30 cal can for everything?
 
Yep, a .30 cal can would be your best bet if this may be your only can purchase for the foreseeable future. I’d look into a quick attach or taper mount can

It varies but wait times for individuals is around 5-6 months and trusts take the better part of a year from what I’ve seen
 
30 cal can would cover pretty much anything 30 cal and below. (Always the possibly of an exception, depending on your selection and the host)

Wait is hard to predict. I know people that are over a year at this point, and other that have received them in less than 6 months. Individuals submissions (vs trust/corp) seem to be coming back quicker at this point, but no guarantee that holds true for forms filed today.
 
Just going by memory, my last can was bought (check cashed) on Mar 24 and the individual app was approved Nov 28.

I'll go dig a little deeper and edit my post if it's different.

It’s not fun at first but you will eventually forget about it. I doubt it ever gets much shorter so you may as well pony up now if you want a can.
 
My first 2 I know the date on them. The rest I stopped keeping track of when to expect them that way it's a surprise to me when I receive the email.
 
I had an individual submitted first week of June 2017 with stamp in hand first week of October 2017. So, you never know what the wait time will be.

If I would have just ponied up when I first became interested I would have my cans in hand even with the ridiculous wait times of the past.

I bought a 22 can a few weeks ago and am getting a 30 cal this week. Wait times are around 4-6 months for individual but even if they take 6+ I'll still have them quicker than if I fiddle fart around instead of just biting the bullet and starting the process.
