Just bought 2k rds. What's y'all thoughts on it. I don't reload and I'm guessing it's easier on a barrel than steel.

depends on what the projectile is made from

I haven't bought ammo since I started reloading years ago but when I did I shot a ton of steel case Tula ammo with no detrimental effects to any of my guns, doubt aluminum cases would be worse. I even found Tula to be quite accurate out of my XDM as a bonus.

I have always used the aluminum case 9mm and 45. Never had a bit of trouble out of it. My beretta's have chewed more than a couple maybe a few thousand rounds of the stuff over the last decade.

It hasn't given me mechanical issues, but I haven't had much luck with performance ie; accuracy.
I kinda shy away from it now.
Maybe my guns just don't like it. ymmv

Use it quite often. PSA usually has Blazer aluminum case for $7.99/bx with free shipping on 20+ boxes. Hard to beat $.16/rd.

I've shot a few hundred rounds of aluminum 9mm in my M&Ps, no issues. I don't buy it anymore because the cost difference it too small vs brass, plus I reload now too.

I shoot the hell out of it, but itā€™s actually the only type of ammo I get a decent amount of malfunctions with. I donā€™t really mind, itā€™s good training clearing the jams.

Yes, Blazer 9mm from PSA, no problems whatsoever.

I've shot Federal aluminum case 9mm and 45ACP from Walmart. No issues. Lighter weight than brass case comes in handy in an FNX45 with 15 rounds. :D Doesn't seem light much but the difference adds up.

If it's a decent price I buy it. Then use it for matches when I can't pick up my empties. Still have 5 or 6 boxes left.

Not one dud for over 4 or 5 cases but they don't survive feeding issues to well. Luckily there's been very few of those.

The only AL case I've seen is Blazer (common) and Federal (rare). Are there othrrs?

I don't reload but this is the same reason I stopped shooting steel and aluminum. I might change my mind when there's another Democrat in the White House and prices go nuts again.

It's actually the only ammo I have ever found that gives my CZ75 feeding issues.

Sticks in chamber and whatnot.

I've shot it a few times. Never had any issues with it. For range 9mm, I'll shoot brass, aluminum, steel, whatever I can find the best deal on.

The only ammo to ever give me trouble was Winchesters USA steel, and Perfecta brass cased 9mm. The winchester was exceptionally dirty and had rough cases that caused slow/poor extraction, and the Perfecta was under charged with powder, giving me a few failures to eject, and one squib lodged in the barrel.

And I don't disagree with that either. ;)

I don't have the time or stuff to reload but my BIL does. I provide him with all the once fired brass he can stand. As a result I get quart bags full of 9mm on occasion.

Shot a few thousand rounds anly pistols that didnt like it was the sub compacts. The Sig 938 doesnt like it at all. but the Hi Power and 92's love it like any other.

I tend to stay away from it due to an incident I had with aluminum cased Blazer.

I was shooting a Ruger Police Carbine in 40S&W and bought a box of cheap aluminum blazer at my local range. In the middle of shooting, the gun wouldn't feed. Tried all the basics to clear the malfunction and nothing; it just wouldn't feed. I took it home and field stripped the carbine and figured the first place to start was a good cleaning. When I went to put the bore brush in the breach to clean the barrel, the brush would barely move. I knew it was the right brush because I had cleaned several 40S&W calibers guns with that brush and it was never that hard to insert the brush. I pulled the brush back out and there was an aluminum ring around the brush about as big as half a shell casing.

When I was shooting, the aluminum case expanded so much it stuck to the chamber. When the extractor grabbed the shell casing to eject it, it ripped the casing in half and ejected the bottom half of the shell casing.

The top half of the casing was in the top of the chamber and I couldn't see it at the range.

To me, it's not worth the few dollars per box saved on aluminum. If you shop smart, you can get brass ammo for a good price comparable to a box of aluminum. I know the brass holds up better and every gun will eat it.

Eh, I've bought some before 9, 40, and 45. Federal and Blazer. I recall one being real dirty in 45, maybe both. Only real issue I've had is mediocre accuracy. Have seen many people have issues at matches shooting the stuff. Could say the same for WWB lately though.

I ran a case of it through my G34 two years back, don't recall any issues at all. Pistol is at around 9k rounds now, with 8k+ of those being steel. I'm known to be a bad shot, so I can't ever say if it's the ammo or the trigger nut that causes accuracy issues.

I picked up some brass cased reloads and felt like some sort of traitor running it through the gun, abandoning my steel case loyalties. I've got a case of it though so I'll be using it in the upcoming matches, hopefully no one I know will catch me using brass.

I bought some Federal Alum case not paying attention because the box looked the same as the regular brass stuff. I shot it and it was good. Since then I have bought it on purpose a few times and it has been every bit as good as the brass ammo for me. But costed less.

I shoot brass exclusively. But, I repack the rounds in old Tula boxes so everyone will understand why I can't hit a thing. :D

Well if the ammo doesn't hit where I'm aiming I may acually shoot better. I can't hit the target where I want to anyway.
