Took the 6.5 Grendel to the range today and went out to 525 yards unsuppressed. Brought the dope back to 500 yards and put a can on the gun. I could not even see the impact on the mount. I have no idea how far I was off.

A few months ago, a friend that ran the SWAT team in Savannah had his son and some friends out on the 525-yard range and I think that he was saying that on a 308, he needed to add about 3.5 MOA.

I know each gun is different but what have you seen with a 308, 6.5 CM or 6.5 Grendel?

Before I sold it, my Tikka T3x Tac A1 in 6.5CM had the exact same dope out 700yds suppressed with an Omega can or unsuppressed. I think each can and rifle is different.

POI shift going from unsuppressed to suppressed is going to be unique for each host and each suppressor. Some host & suppressor combinations have zero or minimal shift while others can be several MOA or MIL vertically, horizontally, or a bit of both!! Typically if your suppressor has a solid mounting system then that POI shift is repeatable each time you remove then reattach the same suppressor. In my limited experience the heavier the barrel profile when combined with a direct thread suppressor will usually have minimal shift. Conversely, the lighter profile barrels may show a greater POI shift. At least that has been the case with my two direct thread suppressors on most of my bolt guns. All of my AR's hosts have some POI shift regardless of barrel length, profile, or suppressor used.

What can & host are you using. The combos with the least POI shift will be with a solid can/barrel attachment, and similar harmonics with the can on and off.
I need to try it on my 6.5 G AR.

This, there is no way to predict it. Sometimes it's next to nothing, sometimes its a huge difference.

I am using an 18" AR that I built. The barrel is SS and fluted. I am using a GSL Multi can with a quick disconnect. The can is rated for anything from 300 Win Mag to 17 caliber.
