I had lurked a bit at the other site, but never joined. The atmosphere in the sign-up process, which I actually started a couple times, was pretty uninviting. Even worse, though, it seemed to me, were the actual members who were just joining. I think the entire first page of new member introductions were of folks who just arrived from New York or Pennsylvania or Minnesota. Frankly, I don't even want that many yankees in America. I sure as shootin didn't want to hang out with 'em.

I'll probably send some folding money to that address on the memberships page, and include some more folding money for the benefactor status when I work up the motivation. Maybe tomorrow.

I hope to make some new friends, and not wear out my welcome before the first snow. Let me get the first round of drinks.

Hope y'all left all them yankees at the other place.

Haha welcome. Thanks for coming over

Thanks all very much. I meant to also mention that I'm a member of GRNC, though I'm not too keen on the notion of petitioning politicians to quit infringing on our rights. And, I belong to the Sons of Confederate Veterans, but take issue with their pledging to the union. Don't see the point...won't do it.

I ride horses and tie my own flies, but not at the same time. Had a sailboat but sold it...might get a nuthern, if the dust settles. Or, if the S hits the F.

Welcome to CFF, we're happy to have you with us.

Greetings and welcome to CFF! Happy to have you here. And that is a heck of intro.

Cheers to you good sir...

Welcome. From the title of your first post, I'm guessing you live in the western part of the state. And maybe even in McDowell county, where the best livermush is made.

@OverMountainMan , well I ain't a yankee, but if I was.......... I wouldn't admit it after that. Bwahahahahaha. I think many ofnus from the South have mixed feelings about having a soft invasion quickly followed by a massive influx of new laws, taxes, and regulations. I try to love everyone, but some make it harder than others.

All that being said, welcome and we are glad to have you. Though I should give you fair warning. Anyone that is a gun toting, red blooded patriot, who keeps peace and loves other will always be welcome here no matter where they are from.

Welcome and we're glad to have you join up with us.

I's jus wonderin if your name was Newbury inspired? I kinda like listenin to 'im on the porch after dark. Welcome home !

Western part, yes, but I'd have to navigate through a couple counties to get to McDowell County. The best, you say?

The original Overmountain Men came down from the Watauga River area of what is now Eastern TN (very near present day Boone), and made their introductions to some Redcoats at King's Mountain and then again at Cowpens. Many say that this was THE turning point in a war that wasn't going quite swimmingly for the Continental Army.

I do not know this Newbury, but will buy him a drink too. You can PM me location of the porch.

Hunter's livermush is a local favorite. I can't personally say that it's the best, because in my limited experience (67 years) I have never found a reason to try any other brand.

Hunter's Livermush is the Best!

The warrior is the very best of us. I will endeavor to scroll as wisely as possible...always receptive to scroll-pro advice.

I herd livermish. Where's it at? Oh yeah welcome to the nuthouse.

Welcome to the best firearms site. My son loves livermush. Goes to college at Gardner-Webb and they actually serve it in the cafeteria. Even better, they have Cheerwine in the soda dispensers

The pizza joint across from the entrance of the college has livermush on a pizza.

Now Welcome to the madness. Glad to have you here.

I grew up in the City of Pleasant Living--didn't care much for the livermush, but consumed quite a few plates of Red Bridges' BBQ. Do they still have the carp ponds there with the jackpots? Anyway, welcome to the forum.
