Huge confiscation of firearms in Bellaire...

An eclectic collection. I see no cases of ammo, they usually like to stack those up too. Maybe saving it for tonights news.

I’d be pissed if they piled my guns on top of each other like that.
Probably not an issue. I’m sure they’ve got a way to jail the owner at least one year for each piece.

I also laugh at the public freaking out when there is any bust of guns. 5, 10, 100.... what’s it matter how many guns someone has? They act as if 1 man is going to tote around 20 rifles and murder thousands.... I could understand a little more if maybe they found 1-3 rifles and a sh*t ton of loaded mags ready to go. That seems more serious, in a way than just a bunch of shotguns and deer rifles

Because guns are evil. So, 10 guns are 10x evil, 20 are 20x evil and that guy’s pile of guns defines evil.

Hmmm ... look at the condition of some of the parked vehicles (a larger older model Mercedes) ... leaves piled up, dull paint and such. The article says Cynthia Beck is the listed owner ... IF that is the one I remember she died 5 or so years back with some connect to do with Gordon Getty (one of the Getty Oil clan). Maybe her estate ... and not completely settled so who knows who or what could go on there if that’s the case.

Anyway there are some nice guns I’m sure that will be destroyed by court order ...

4:23 PM PT -- The ATF now says, "Pursuant to an anonymous tip ATF and LAPD became aware of an individual conducting illegal firearms transactions outside the scope of the federal firearm license that the individual possesses."

Sounds like they we're an FFL.
Gun broker to the rich and famous?

Probably has a Curio and Relic 03 FFL. I saw a wide variety of firearms in the photo and a LOT of them didn't look C&R eligible.

The pics are crazy... An actual arsenal...

Looks like a rich person had a nice collection. Doesn't look like a manufacturing set-up to me...

Will be interesting to see what comes out about it.

The legal bar for manufacturing is set so low now, they may well have been doing something to trigger that charge. Swapping an upper on an AR lower is considered manufacturing by ATF. So is rebluing a gun. Cerakoting too.

Dang shame, whatever the real story is.

WTF? Am I committing a crime when I reseat a loose pin, swap grips or spray a little Ballistol?

You can manufacture for your own personal use. To do it commercially, you have to have a manufacturer FFL. I can’t buy assembled lowers, put uppers on them, then sell them without upgrading my FFL and paying the federal excise tax. I can take a customer’s lower and change the upper for them. The rules are very esoteric.

Hydrodipping A gun is not considered manufacturing. Bluing, cerakote, parkerizing, etc. are.

This was a change in policy during the GW Bush administration.

What's the big hub bub?? Their just taking them out for a breath of fresh aire, it probably got a little stuffy in the house... I'm sure they'll put 'em back in correct order...

Yeah, probably just time to replace the golden rods. ;)

It occurs to me that possession of however many guns, even in CA, would not interest ATF. Maybe that’s why the manufacturing charge.

He was doing it right, in the wrong area of the wrong state. If he can afford to live where he lived, he can afford a nice 2nd residence in Montana or Idaho or the Missouri Ozarks ;)

“This is a big stash,” Ramirez told reporters at the scene. “It’s beyond comprehension that somebody can have so many weapons in a residence like this, in a neighborhood like this.”

Why does this collection mess with people so much?
Wish I had that kind of cache.
