Do you just stay home or does it depend on how light or heavy the rain is and if there's any wind included?

Being in a blind makes it not a huge issue for me, but would you expect to see deer, especially if you're in a spot where you normally have decent, regular traffic?

It really depends. During the rut they’ll move pretty much any time. After the rut they’ll move in light rain but generally hunker down if it’s a downpour.

Biggest buck I ever shot was on a nasty cold rainy day but that was during the rut.

I'd still go if I were in an enclosed blind. A bad day hunting is better than any other day.

I was hoping to take my daughter today, but I think she's being lazy today. My BIL took a very nice 10pt Thursday and it's got me wanting to get back out there.

The BIL...

When I was a younger man... I always was successful during a 3 day rain... usually on the 2nd day. I would stalk the deer trails very slowly and sneak up on them and pop them.

Great stalking weather in the Forests... but, I am not a younger man anymore and though I could do it... meh... I will wait for the dry time rut!

I hunt suburban deer and they don’t seem to like the rain. I hunted rain for years but stopped a couple years back. Just wasn’t worth it where I hunt.

I went and, in my opinion, was rewarded.

No trophies to speak of and it was looking a bit bleak, but the deer must have had their alarms set for a certain time, because when they decided to move, they did. Between 4:55 and time to leave, I saw 14 different deer. Lots of does, a button head and a nice spike.

I consider it a really good hunt.

I have went out several times in a down pour and walked and looked and walked and looked. Killed a ton of does this way laying under cedar trees
