Hurricane Florence predictions

@DirtySCREW the first one you posted earlier from the wect was the one i was trying to send you last night. Not sure if you got that screenshot in pm or not.

If any of you guys in the wilmington area need a extra hand cleaning up a guy i went to school with is down there and out of work right now because of storm looking for odd small clean up jobs for a little cash to help feed his family pm and I can get you his number. He is also a talented musician if you need one just to cheer you up or play a event.

Trying to figure out the best way home. I’m thinking I85 from Greenville to Greensboro. From there I could either get on I40 or Hwy 421. I’m thinking Hwy 421. Be a long way....but won’t have to turn off if it’s clear the whole way. The maps are showing red flooded roads...even the way Wect posted. I dunno. All I know is I’m already stressed out and want to get home. I don’t need to get stuck on the side of the road!

Also keep hearing stories where LEOs are turning people around and not letting them on highway so emergency vehicles and power companies can utilize it

My nephew didn’t encounter any of that on the route I texted you. Hope you got it.

Just got my power back on, hope it stays this time.

There is an 8oclock curfew if effect in town, not that it should affect travel attempts but if you get bogged down somewhere might.

Scotland co

I've been running downed tree calls all day with the FD, we just got grounded due to wind conditions. The rain isn't bad yet but getting some violent gusts.
Hi, Scotland county!! We just got power back and last I saw the two trees om my road were still there...maybe we need you up here near Hoke county line. I'm grateful to have power because I'd had an update saying it would be Sunday night before it was restored. The river is rising fast and I probably won't be able to make it to Raeford in the morning on 401.

A lot of folks don’t realize how much crap goes into our daily comfort
You got that right! By the end of day 4 without power, all I really wanted was for my fan to work, just so the air would move a bit. LoL. The no lights, and no flushing, and no fridge, and no AC...I got used to that pretty fast, but I need a fan!!! Got to find a way to get a fan going for next time....but it's going now.....

It was ten o'clock the last I checked a day or two ago. Did they change it for Wilmington?

@dave33 Did you know you had a twister touchdown in your neck of the woods briefly? whoa

I thought I heard 8 o’clock curfew on the radio but it’s possible I am mistaken about that. I did hear something on the radio about a twister on Gordon rd., from the looks of it I wouldn’t doubt it at all. One thing about the radio broadcasts during the storm, there was nothing official. Just folks calling in that may be talking about stuff they have seen, or stuff their 3rd cousin heard from a neighbors friend from down the road that they saw online somewhere.

I really wish there would have been an actual official channel, that had official responses from the city or state or something. Listening to some of the crazy people that called in you could almost hear banjos playing in the background. Just not in a good way if you know what I mean.

Fingers crossed that when you do get home things are much better than you're probably expecting....

Consider swinging by Wal Mart and picking up a Gazeteer and run back roads...But be careful...
The local range I’m a member at. River isn’t cresting until end of week, going to continue to rise on the Waccamaw.

Update on I-95

https://abc11.com/traffic/nc-road-closures-latest-county-by-county-list-of-closures/4250976/

Flooding caused the N.C. Department of Transportation to close the Person Street bridge over the Cape Fear River in downtown Fayetteville, and the department closed another section of Interstate 95, from mile marker 46 to 56, on Tuesday evening.

With the impending closure, I-95 will be closed in both directions between exits 13 and 56 and between exits 65 and 81. Near Rocky Mount, southbound traffic is being detoured off the freeway at exit 138 and being sent to Charlotte and into South Carolina.

Exit 138 is Rt.64, so they're detouring southbound drivers off I-95 and onto Rt.64
