Got a generator, fuel, food, water, rifles, ammo, and books to read. My family is set, even the newborn!
Don't forget to run down to the basement and grab a few quarter sticks of candles.

Yep. Just don't hold on to 'em after ya light 'em. Lol.
The twist lock design prevents the plug from being disconnected if tugged.Good point. I am looking at pics of new ones and they have that 120/240volt twist lock connector that I have no idea what it is for. I always plugged in the 120v pigtail for the sump pump and watched my basement flood anyway.
I actually think I had a large cable that connected to it that split into three female ends. I bought it 12 years ago because I had a basement that would flood without power to the sump pump. Otherwise i never ran it.The twist lock design prevents the plug from being disconnected if tugged.
The female end of the cord will mate up to the recessed male on a generator feed box outside the building,
that will then feed into the main panel to feed the building safely and per electrical codes.

In addition to all the goings on of the government and panickin’ public, everyone might get a dry run in on their preps.
Some will be eatin’ Bread and drinkin’ spoiled milk.
Some will be eating like kings.
Which one will you be?
I’ll be finishing off the dozen cans of spaghettiOs from 2014.

Climate is fascinating, it all starts actually over the Sahara with heat and high pressure systems which pick up warm water as a move into the Atlantic. And of course El Nino exacerbates it. I read somewhere ones were a 5 millibar drop in pressure in Egypt has the potential to spawn a category 5 hurricane that hits Texas.
Just got my new toilet now im now set!

I must confess I thought the pool noodle was a pretty neat cheap idea to make roughing it a little better.
I'm a little spooked. If this thing barrels on inland like Hugo did, and hits the Triad head on, I'm very concerned about these:

Around here, the ground's already saturated.Good luck, sir. Hugo shoved many of our tall old pines down like it was nothing. The ground will be saturated, and the winds will be heavy and steady.

Thank you sir.
I won't mind if they go down, as long as they miss the house. Many of those trees in the pics are Poplars, Gum, and Pine. We have lived here for 13 years and have never experienced a hurricane direct hit. We built the house and moved in June 2005.
We experienced a few hurricanes prior to living in this house but never had to worry about big trees falling on the house.
If you can't find any water, hit me up when yall get back.Where at? We are going to swing by sams club down here tonight and try to get a case of water and batteries before heading home
I've got a couple pines that I'm worried about. I may or may not have my old Pathfinder strategically parked.I'm a little spooked. If this thing barrels on inland like Hugo did, and hits the Triad head on, I'm very concerned about these:

ABSOLUTELY LOVE IT!!!
I figured some of you were still digging up dry beans from Y2K.
Ever see that 80s video TV Dinner by ZZ Top?what might crawl out if we did;
Buying soups and consumables that could be cooked in cans isn't a bad idea at the start of Fall.
They work as backups during hurricanes and ice storms, then can be eaten regularly after the thaw.
Why's that?Do NOT heat them in the cans!! Bad JuJu....
I was gonna pay someone to take some trees down anyways this fall, so this all may be a bit less elegant but I guess its sort of what I wanted.
I intend to be drunk as a skunk. In addition to all the goings on of the government and panickin’ public, everyone might get a dry run in on their preps.

Even cans that aren't dented?
Is there some chemical in the cans that affects the soup product during heating?
I guess it's good to have a small camp pot available then.
I'd like to be but I'm thinking I need to have a level head in case anything goes sideways.
