My pastor growing up was killed in a car crash yesterday in Alabama. He was 75 years old and leaves behind a wife, 3 kids and many grandkids.

I had no idea this would affect me the way it has because of his impact on my life growing up. He was a great man, a leader among men. I was friends with his son growing up even though he was a year younger than me. We both played soccer and competed regularly at different schools. My parents still attend the Church he started in 1983 and my dad is his same age.

I'm standing in my garage drinking a beer right now contemplating the decisions I've made over the years. I'm thinking about things I need to change moving forward as well.

One crazy part is his younger sister was killed in a car crash 5 years ago yesterday. His Facebook post yesterday morning honoring his sister ended with "See you soon Sis!"

Please send up a prayer for the family and the congregation he was over.

Harry Reeder, senior pastor at Briarwood Presbyterian Church in Birmingham Alabama. Well done My good and faithful servant.

Prayer sent for Harry's family, and for all those he impacted through his life and ministry.

Prayers for you. Terrible news to deal with.

Awful news. I feel for you man. I pray for all of those affected by his passing. It sounds like he was a good man and is headed to the right location.

I still go to Christ Covenant. My parents had Harry over many times growing up, just had a 30 minute talk with my dad about the same thing.

Its awful, but I can't feel sad for him. I think he would be pissed off if we were sad. Missing him, yes, but not sad.

Cool, we come over a couple times a year for special occasions typically. Have thought about making a church change recently so we might come over in the next couple weeks for a few weeks.

Completely agree. I will probably watch the service Wednesday if I'm in front of my computer. I imagine it will be a powerful service.

Thanks all again for your prayers. If you would like to see a moving memorial/celebration service for a champion of Christ, the link is below. If one person would find Christ from his passing, Harry would count it as a win.
