If I remember correctly, he was also opposed to efforts in the state legislature that would have rid free citizens from the tyrannical mandates of having to acquire a permit for the privileges of purchasing a handgun or carrying it concealed.
It’s bad enough that in order to purchase a firearm from a licensed dealer, free citizens have to fill out g.d. form and submit to a “guilty until proven innocent” vetting process before being allowed the privilege of owning a weapon. Having to obtain government mandated permission slips to either obtain a handgun or carry it in a manner of their choosing only adds further insult to injury...but Hyatt seemed fine with that...because it “helped keep guns out of the wrong hands”.
Meanwhile, .gov facilitated the export of weapons south of the border, to some of the most dangerous, ruthless folks on the planet.
So, no...it ain’t about keeping guns out of the wrong hands; it’s about trying to make it as burdensome as possible for free citizens to exercise a right....and tracking what they own.
