I’m sick of hearing gun owners say……

The “Lost them in a boating accident” has always seemed like a nicer way to say that someone will not comply with the Kings orders to turn in their weapons, is sounds a lot less aggressive to the sheep and probably less likely to get you “red flagged” than “ If they come for my guns, I’ll shoot tbe MF’ers in the face”
So...is it OK, or not OK, that I’m about to start a build on this lower?

I thought it was the perfect lower for my upcoming .410 short-barreled non-NFA firearm build. :D

I have a few of these. When ATF audited me last year, I was curious what they would think about them. Both inspectors laughed pretty hard at it when I explained it was about the "can you shoulder a brace?" fiasco.

That’s the one I used to build an unsuppressed 11.5” AR pistol. I had a thread here discussing whether it should be a no-stamper, 1-stamper or 2-stamper. We opted for 0. :D

And why are we concerned with the feelings of sheep?

Terry

Because the “sheep” will make an anonymous call to one of the Kings alphabet agencies and you’ll end up with a no knock visit in the dark of night, as “gun people” we can say things to each other and completely understand the context, the sheep will hear something and claim you’re about to climb a bell tower with fully semi automatic ghost guns to murder children and toss puppies into traffic.

I personally don’t discuss much of anything about my intentions to deal with government overreach in any detail outside of my immediate family because they understand the context.

Nevermind that it’s pretty durn easy to “see” said burial spots with some basic gear that can be flown on a Phantom drone.

that's a bit far fetched.this would be a lottery draw. Would a few people among tens of millions succeed? Sure, but serves no purpose in the equation of justifying the inclusion or exclusion of your preparation methods. 999, 999 out of a million attempting this will just be rich in dog turd, squeaky toys and Milk Bones from savvy canines with an eye on the future. oh, and likely get shot digging up those turds.

My intent in pointing that out was to notify those who may practice such activities, that it's not as invisible as you may think. While the square footage of the surface of the earth is a daunting number to potentially scan for weapon cache burials, it becomes an easier task to complete if there's a short list of who to scan. Anyone who's bought a new gun on a 4430 form, anyone who has a CHP, anyone who's logged into a wretched hive of villainy and scum such as this one...it's not too difficult to narrow down the list.

I know--I'm being paranoid. I circle back to the intent of my comment: just to make folks aware that some simple thermal imagining or ground-penetrating radar can easily see "anomalies" in the ground.

Yeah, it >can< be found...but I think the point is that when the call goes out that "guys, they are coming around with thermal imaging and ground-penetrating radar" then we have plenty of time to dig them up and put up some resistance. I also have a hard time believing that the government and states are going to approve the mass purchases of dozens of ground-penetrating radar systems in order to find some dudes PSA AR he stashed in a buried pipe. There are far easier ways...

Thats why I buried my stash in my neighbors yard. He has a Bernie sign in his yard, no one will suspect anything.

all i got is a 410

"I did a thing..."
"Look what followed me home..."

Nothing technically wrong with "I did a thing"...because technically a thing was done. But it is cutesy...and we are men discussing firearms...weapons...so act like an adult...or at least someone attempting something slightly adultish... Perhaps the first time, years ago, when this was first used it was fine, as it was new and "fresh"...but as of now, I am reminded of freaking Brittany Spears singing "Oops I did it again..."

And "look what followed me home"...seriously? They are inanimate objects...they dont follow people. And again, perhaps the first time, years ago, when someone described a firearm purchase with "look what followed me home!" may have been kinda funny...but now? The thing didnt follow you home...you went through a process to get it.

I have not buried any weapons but can imagine that any conflict in which weapons might be either needed or confiscated by overwhelming force may not be a one-shot event. It might be nice to have a few weapons available for round two, three, and others. We never know what might happen and might be wise to leave a few options open.

I thought it was interesting to watch the show about preppers that was on TV a while back. Each had come up with a specific scenario that they wished to survive. Their prep may not do much for them if some other catastrophe happens. We never know what the future holds and can not make foolproof preparations for everything, but we can take some precautions that leave us less vulnerable in a variety of situations. Not having all our guns and ammo in one place may be a wise precaution.

Yep, a buddy called me the other day asking about those tubes you can buy to bury guns/ammo/money etc. I asked what was he burying, he said an Ar pistol and some ammo. I asked why, he says in case they come for them, and I said curtly, when they come for them is when you need them.

As has been said before, the moment you feel you need to bury them is the exact moment you should be digging them back up.

I think the point in most cases (I don't know your friends) is to bury the spares/backups...caches are guerilla 101. (EDIT: I see SPM beat me to it..sorry)

ADD THESE COMMENTS TO MY LIST!! :)

But...it’s normally spoken by a guy with one rifle and a BB gun...no real guerrilla minded boogie boy would even let slip he is or has buried some.

But, your list so have at it

CCP. Concealed Carry Permit. Nope. Can't get one.
CWP. Concealed Weapons Permit. None of those either.
CCW. Concealed Carry Weapon. I'm not even sure what this means.

But you can get a CHP. Concealed Handgun Permit.

"But you know what I mean."
Yes I do. I also know what you mean when you say 30 round clip. Or when you say close the boarder.
Those are points of semantics and spelling...a 4th grade english class mistake.

But CHP is quite different. It carries a legal definition that if misunderstood can put you in jail and probably lose your ability to conceal carry anything ever again.
Kentucky has a CWP. You can carry concealed all manner of weapons...knives, batons, even brass knuckles.
NC is very specific, and they mean it. Concealed HANDGUN Permit. Handguns only. No knives, swords, nun-chucks, or bad breath.
Most starling I suppose, is guys here who actually have a NC CHP, and continue to refer to it as every other thing.
Yeah I know, big deal. We know what they mean.
But do they know what they mean? What other off-the-cuff gun stuff are they telling people?

Sorry, I'm on this today. Yesterday I had to explain to a newbie that when someone else told them to get a CCP, that it is not a CCP. They thought it meant knives and baseball bats included.
This might be the 9th time I've had to clarify the term to a new gun owner, and that in this case, words matter.

If you don't know what you got or what you can get, I'd suggest to just remain quiet on the topic and instead just go with a 30 round clip is standard capacity.

And what does an invasive bird species have to do with any of this????

LOL. If you poke fun at others misspeak you better check for your own mistakes!!!

I still wanna know if a suppressed handgun counts.

Suppressed AR pistol?
Handgun with attached silencer?
Integrally suppressed pistol, like my Maxim 9?

I always like CCW. Weapon is a bit broad a term huh. It is a Concealed Carry Handgun class. The permit is the Concealed Handgun Permit. When i teach a class i go over this and no you cannot carry concealed knives, nunchuks, SMG's, grenades, etc. legally with your permit. People have some weird ideas.

Illinois has a FCCL. Firearm Concealed Carry License. But it's only good for handguns because handguns and firearms are the same thing, but different. Sure, that makes sense.

We have a whole thread going on stuff people say that irritates us. This one never really bugged me that much because I hear it from multiple places and locations, and dont know what all states call theirs.
