I have seen millions of seagulls, buzzards and crows in landfills.

I’ve seen thousands of rats, and a few possums, raccoons, dogs and cats. I’ve even seen the occasional deer.

But I have never, and I mean never, seen a duck……

Until today.

Biggest dang duck I’ve ever seen too. Belly as big as a basketball. Fears nothing. Not trucks, buzzards or man. Happy as hell, just chomping away on bugs and garbage.

The landfill guys said it’s been there a month. And that it never quacked but it would hiss at you a lot

Are we sure it's not Satan's Beloved (a goose) wearing a duck it killed and hollowed out?

I was expecting you to say that you're going to call it Peking duck.
My neighbor is Mexican and he used to raise them for the eggs.

I’d never seen one before so I associate them with him. Ipso facto, Mexican ducks. lol.

My wife had a duckling brought to her vet clinic that was "abandoned" so she calls me and asks if I can help rehab it until we can place it with someone else. Like a fool I said yes and we ended up keeping that thing until it died many years later. Funnest pet I ever had but it went through various cycles of weirdness. She lived in the backyard where she had access to the pool but rarely used it for more than a quick bath, liked to sit (and shit) on one of the chairs so she watch tv, and once spent about three months living on the roof. She was a total goofball. She also made friends with the random wild ducks that would stop by until one day I came home and she was dead with two wild ones on either side keeping her company in her final hours.

RIP Koloa.

(I wanted to name her L'orange but wife said no so I named her Koloa which is Hawaiian for "duck")
