I really dislike my neighbors....

At first I thought "new roof going in? Why the issue?"

Then realized its just crap on the roof and shingles missing... Not a project in progress. There is always that one neighbor in the HOA

That’s all fine and dandy behind a 10’ fence.
But when I have to drive around the chained up dog laying in the middle of the street. Look at a truck backed into the front porch with a pile of crap stacked to the cab roof, broken cars with front ends half torn apart scattered everywhere, the front porch stacked worse than Sanford and Sons.

Yeah, I take issue with driving my home price down to shithole country levels.. want to live like a filthy pig ? go out in the woods where you won’t be seen as disrespectful ahole.

People yell about living in neighborhoods with HOA's. I now live in a shiny new house with an HOA, and not exactly sure how the new board will treat things, but...

Sounds like you have the same problem I have, er had. Mine is my BIL! My saving grace is the large patch of woods between us that I own! And the fact that I have another right of way into my property!
 
Maybe you should send some pictures to the city or county health department? There's surely a code violation somewhere in that pile of trash?

This house right here is 50% of the reason we moved, hollering and fighting in the streets, breaking into peoples cars, up at all hours of the night making all sorts of racket.
I killed two of there dogs on my property for trying to attack me or my wife.
Heck there two year old wondered out on the roof one time.......

The other 50% of the reason is becuase we had a once and a lifetime opportunity to move intot he house my wifes grandfather built.

No, we don't want them out here throwing old TVs and deer carcass in the woods, or mowing their trash that their dog has strewn all over the yard and blowing it into our driveway.

The duplexes down the road have a boxer that sleeps in the road that honestly has 20-30lbs of tumors hanging off of it...
 
I understand people may not have the means to spend on landscaping the yard.
But damn, at least show your neighbor some respect and pick up the trash, wood piles and mow the yard every couple weeks.
There’s a difference in trying , or not giving a crap.

Don’t get me started on their dog... I’ve caught it 4 times already.
It went for a ride in the dog catchers truck, one day. 8 hrs later it was back. It’s run my wife back into the house, the dog catcher gave them warnings ( 3-4 times)
Lately it’s been chained up. Maybe he believes me that the dog will be killed the next time it’s in my yard looking in my windows. If it doesn’t growl, it will just get a ride to another county shelter .

Yeah, but luckily there are no missing boards, it’s not half falling over.
And ! it’s keeping the neighbors from seeing my gazebo that’s in shambles since the hurricane, the wood play structure that’s cut up in a pile and the rest of the trash strewn about the 3’ tall weeds...
 
That’s the rub..... if you’re not governed by an HOA or local ordinances, then your “free” to be a crappy homeowner/neighbor. I have the same issue with a neighbor but I can’t have my cake and eat it too, so I say/do nothing. But I can shoot/play loud music/piss off my porch while watching them drive by and they can’t say/do anything.

Ain’t ‘Murica Grand!!
 
I too have this same issue!!!!

The next door neighbor is a bunch of damn yankees that think their "inner city" lifestyle is appropriate in a neighborhood. I'm fairly certain they're still waiting for obama to send people over to take care of their yard, decrepit house, broke down vehicles. Did I mention they keep their grandkids, there's four of them. The oldest is in and out of jail for selling drugs, theft, etc. That fairy is so feminine that he actually told me that he's not good with outdoor chores and prefers to keep the inside of the house clean. The inside is filthy. Lazy ass. He's so gay he hasn't been honest with himself since he popped out.

The owner's daughter, parent (yes, no daddy in the picture) of the grandchildren once tried to have a shed placed in their back yard as an apartment. I noticed the incredibly large temporary structure had been placed in their back yard, too close to the borders per zoning code, and happened to overhear a discussion between the daughter and an electrician about how her rent was "TOO DAMN HIGH" at her previous residence while I was outside pruning bushes. This was after I had observed her entering the shed in the evening, and leaving in the morning several times prior. The town fined them until they removed the shed, as they did not obtain appropriate permits prior to installing the shed. The town said they could return the shed, if placed appropriately from the borders and could not have anyone living in it.... Guess what hasn't come back.... the shed, and unfortunately not the daughter.

I got the stink eye from them for planting a holly bush hedge last year. No one wants to see their broke ass shit in their back yard. Don't get me started on their piss poor attempt at yardwork. Seriously, I wouldn't piss on them to put them out if they were all on fire.

That reminds me, there's another neighbor that I need to contact the town manager about...

you could, or maybe offer to help them do whatever to clean it up.

I can tell you the first time someone rolls up from the city code enforcement and tells me I need to clean up is the last time I'm talking to the rats next door.

My neighbor tried the same BS with me about backyard shooting - never mentioned anything in person, never said a word for seven or 8 years and then the deputy shows up. Well, lets just say I won that battle. But that SOB next door can die and rot and I'll not shed a tear or send a card.

In fact, I heard thru the grapevine he was having a little cardiac problem. Hope he doesn't need any help around the house because I'm busy and so are my teenage boys. Call the state maybe they'll send help

I think the difference is the OP would probably prefer the neighbor went shooting in the back yard, heck he might even join them .. compared to garbage everywhere.

Nobody likes garbage (not even libertarians).

I WISH this would be my luck. I constantly complain about my neighbors and they still talk to me. Seriously I could care less what they think of me and would LOVE IT if they stopped talking to me altogether. They can take that inner city culture and shove it right up their arse.
