Icarus frame for 365

Just got my icarus xl hybrid pro frame in the mail. It feels really good and solid. I can say getting the fcu in it was not easy. The tolerances are very tight. I hear it loosens up over time, but i don't plan on removing it anytime soon.
I love that the dust cover goes to the end of the slide and it has a real rail on it. The added weight feels good and i imagine range trips will be more pleasant. Now just gotta get more xl mags.

Below is a pic of my 2-365s. The top is the icarus frame with xl slide and flat trigger and the bottom is the standard polymer xl frame with the shorter slide and fcu (x configuration minus the flat trigger)
Magwells are shaped a little different but both work as far as I'm concerned. (Icarus on left)

Checkering feels good and i like that they added that little area in front of the takedown notch for your support thumb.


Overall I'm happy with it. Probably doesn't do much better than a standard 365 but i like the extra heft since this one sits at the house anyway.

Edit: forgot to add it still fits in a don hume leather holster made for a standard xl. Not sure about others but this guy still fits perfectly.

Been looking for a Mischief Machine module and cannot find one, may end up grabbing one of these since they're a little easier to find. Have you shot it with the new module yet?

I have not. I read about the mischief and icarus and decided on the icarus since people say the mischief is larger and i have fairly small hands.

It feels great to me and I'm happy i got it. Changing out was almost a breeze. The frame is a tight squeeze... and i mean tight.

I went on the icarus site 2x a day, everyday for a month before it was in stock and a few minutes after ordering, it was out of stock again. Not sure about the mischief, but these aluminum frames seem to be hot ticket items.

I hope to go shoot when i get back from Chicago this week. If you end up with one, post your review. Id love to read someone else's opinions on it. Im really liking mine so far. Long as it shoots, I'm happy i got it. It's slightly larger around than the polymer sig frame but still small enough to hold comfortably. If there's anything else i can answer for you, don't hesitate to ask.

Any issues with existing holsters given differences in rail and trigger guard?

It fits perfect in my leather ones. Obviously the kydex probably won't work due to it being molded. The don hume leather in my original post fits better than it did with the original frame. Very snug and secure.

Well, finally caught an Icarus restock. Ending up getting the X Elite ACE frame, can’t wait for it to get here 🙏
