Good match, great setup, and wonderful to be around good friends. I can't express how grateful I am that the folks in charge set up and run these matches.

^^^^^^

This video shows the flaw in the rules we discussed yesterday. On station 2, the shooter stood way back on the line and was exposed to targets, but was technically within the rules (I guess). Never moved, never pied out. The easiest fix is for the barrier to be a side and back limit?

There is a miss understanding among competitors that you are able to back away from cover, expose yourself to multiple targets at the same time and be within the rules. You still have to pie targets and you cannot stand in the open and engage targets. The fault line is the forward limit of cover.

I guess at the 0:52 mark he does pie out just a bit. It's hard to tell from the vid if he was exposed to the right hand target before the 0:52 mark. I expect Dean thought he was not?

Was in his squad. He didn't seem to me to be much more exposed by standing back far, and he did pie them out. It seems to me that he actually would have done better on time on this one if he got a little closer. If nothing else, at least he's not crowding cover! :D

I beg to differ. If you watch closely after the first six single shots were taken, then from the 0:46 to 0:50 mark, two targets were shot with no movement whatsoever. That means he was exposed to the second target. If the foot fault lines are meant to be just that, then pie-ing out and exposure to targets means nothing.

This issue could be solved by shortening the foot fault lines so the exposure is eliminated.

Note: I am a newish shooter. I have no real dog in this fight. This crap is hard enough without a bunch of difficult to interpret rules.

Thanks Ash! Stinking thing keeps eluding me. Maybe next time!
Always a pleasure to watch you shoot Joshua. I was four seconds short of getting promoted to third grade today, lol.

lol - I think you've improved since our last classifier. You missed a head shot today didn't you? That's your three seconds. So close!
I was trying to operate a 1911 at the last classifier. They are accurate for me, but my reloads were clumsy and slow. I shoot Gaston's creation like the rest of the cool kids now.

Should have shot the right target first because you would have seen it first.

So my squad argued about stage 4, the second set of strong hand only shots did you not shoot them out of order, because backing up you could see the target on the right before the target on the left closer to the barrel?
I advanced backward too fast. When I turned, the right most target was covered by the by the no shoot...so I shot the target that was visible.

Yes, however, I moved back too fast. When I turned my head it was behind the no shoot and not visible. I just adjusted on the fly. I did try to get a small peek at the hardcover before I turned to verify the shot, and that was threw me off.

never shot a bug match before, is a holster needed? and does a glock 26 count as a BUG gun?

December 9th's match is cancelled due to weather. See you on the 30th for the B.U.G. match.

B.U.G. match on Saturday December 30. We are changing up the format for the B.U.G. matches, you will have to draw from a holster and do 1 reload on the clock per stage. 6 stages and 60rds minimum. This will be fun.

Good BUG match, @Amp Mangum. Shooting our EDC's from holsters with reloads on the clock help to sort out some things a regular BUG match can't.
