Agreed.

I think everyone enjoyed today's match and got a chance to test out how they carry and deploy the gun that most actually carry concealed. Drawing from a pocket holster and digging speed loaders out of a pocket sure ain't as fast as drawing from an owb holster and pulling mags from a mag pouch on your belt!

Weather forecast for Dunn tomorrow has improved considerably. Now just saying overcast and 20% chance.

Fieldgrade's Fahrenheit Forecast is Dunn will get rain between 7-9AM then we'll be clear to shoot as usual at 10AM

...and congratulations to @nchiker1 for shooting a clean match, all six stages, which was no small feat considering all the mud, and the match director let some noob design most of the stages.

Johnny Ringo is no longer the Deadliest Pistolero, @nchiker1 is!

lol! The good doctor at his best!

Pretty sure I got beat by 15 seconds though...how do you best a guy who beats you by 15 seconds when you run it clean? Don't know if the practice time is worth it, I think I'll just wait for him to mess up instead. ;)

How “newbie friendly” is this match?
I have shot a couple IDPA matches at Deep River, and my wife has shot one there as well. My work schedule now is going to preclude me from the Deep River match, so we are looking for another to go to.
Can we just show up the morning of, pay, and shoot? Do we need a cover garment? From the videos, it didn’t look like they were used much, and I thought that was a thing for IDPA?

How “newbie friendly” is this match? You will not find a more newb friendly match in NC, and there are new shooters there every month. Some you will recognize from the Deep River match. H20 is a larger match. If you enjoyed Deep River you will love H20.

Can we just show up the morning of, pay, and shoot? Yes. Do we need a cover garment? Yes, unless it's real hot and then it is optional and will be announced. Some stages won't require cover garments. That does it, we will have to be at the March match. Thanks for the reply.
The March match might be the day/night match we shoot about once a year, which is even more fun. We start around noon (it will be announced here) and shoot a regular match. Finish, go eat dinner in Dunn or Benson close by, come back at dusk, and reshoot the same match in the dark with only handheld lights. It's awesome.

As I recall, you can sign up and just shoot the "day match" if you like, $20 match fee, or sign up and shoot both, $40. It will be confirmed here in a couple of weeks I'm sure.

I appreciate it. Gotta slow it down a little and gets those hits. My squad had Kevin on it, trying to keep up with him LOL
I have never once been on a squad to see him shoot. I just see it on the scoresheet later and wonder, "who the heck is that guy??" lol

Our March 10 match will be a day/night match. The day match will start at 12 noon and the night match at 6pm. Match fee is $20 for either the day or night and $30 for both.
