IDPA - Coharie Shooting League, Clinton NC - monthly match

I signed up like last time but it still doesn't give any kind of verification. Hopefully I'm in,, also if the crowd is smaller like last time would I be able to shoot twice? I know it would be another entry fee.
Yes you can sign up again and shoot twice.

I think the last time I shot there was in the rain, lol.

Will the site say if it's still in the morning? I just finished putting some grip tape on. I don't mind a drizzle but I don't know about shooting in a rain like I drive through tonight. I had to cut my flashers on.

IMG_1845.PNG Ok, I'm here and it's pouring. I've paid my entry fee but I think I'm gonna just donate it to the cause,,, I think I'm heading back to Angier

Can't do it, I'm a punk and don't want to wet my panties wet.

That big orange/red blob on your radar is showing on mine as just starting there. Ground zero. I hate that. I know Bert worked hard to design those stages and set it up.

Yeah. Thats my little black car sittin all alone and me and my buddy up under the flooded out shelter. We seriously considered shooting a couple stages just for the hell of it before we broke them down. Hate that we didnt get to have the match but it was good to see some old friends

If looked promising on the trip there. I never got out of the car. I keep watching people put in some kind of rain gear. I'm newer and didn't think about bringing anything.

To me, what is frustrating about shooting in the rain, is not the getting wet part. It is the dealing with scoring and pasting targets with the bags on them and trying to keep scoresheets dry. It can also get fairly iffy when footing is compromised due to muddy ground. Busting your ass goes to a whole new level when there is a loaded pistol in your hand.

First time I ever shot in the rain was at Coharie last year when the rain caught up with us on the last stage or two, and that is exactly what I learned. You had to watch the targets to see the shots hit, otherwise you couldn't score them because a dozen pasters would fly off every time.

I was wondering how that would paste the targets. Last time we had a proble with the pasties when it was dry.

Yep. And as an RO you really have no choice but to give them the best two shots showing in that case. It is not realistic to think you can remember where their shots were landing through a plastic bag for a whole stage especially when you are supposed to be watching the gun and not the shots.

I think shooting matches in the rain, especially idpa, are beneficial because defensive situations are not always going to take place in perfect weather. IDPA is geared towards training you for defensive situations. However, competitively speaking, rain matches can be less than accurate.

By the way, we have a mutual chum who we finally got out to shoot some matches at Buccaneer with us. He's @Silver_Bullet on here.

He changed jobs and got scarce recently. But it was a good job change I think.

Looks like it will be overcast tomorrow. Excellent.
Tired of frying like an egg on match days.

Congrats to Sir Anthony Magnum, for winning all the marbles today.

And Fast Eddie, who was indeed fast today, placing first in ESP, SS. No small task.
